2022 Could Be Special For Fort Myers

<strong>FORT MYERS FOOTBALL</strong><strong> 2022. </strong> <strong>Head Coach:</strong> Sammy Sirianni <strong>2021 Record:</strong> 5-4 <strong>THE GREEN WAVE</strong> While this program made the state playoffs last season, it turned out to be a very frustrating year. While they came up with wins against Fort Myers Riverdale (35-2), Fort Myers Cypress Lake (28-3), Cape Coral (22-7), Cape Coral Ida Baker (49-14) and Punta Gorda Charlotte (16-14), there were three games that could have gone in their favor. The Miami Northwestern contest in the playoffs got away fast, and the 11-point loss to South Fort Myers were games that they didn't deserve to win, but there were two really close contests that may have turned the tide in 2021. A four-point loss to the Region's No. 1 seed Fort Myers Dunbar (32-28) and a five-point setback to longtime rival North Fort Myers (32-27) were indeed frustrating. After a very productive spring, this program heads into the summer feel positive – and with camps, combines and 7-on-7 events ahead, things are starting to look promising with quality talent on both sides of the ball.
