New players emerged in the latest update, and we’ve found multiple new wide receivers across the peach state who had great seasons last fall. Here are some of the top wide receivers whose stock rose in the latest 2023 Prep Redzone Georgia Rankings.
Craig Adams, jr. – Pebblebrook
Ranked as the No. 17 WR and the No. 141 prospect in Georgia, Adams Jr. is a big-bodied, physical receiver at 6-foot-3 210-pounds who really impressed as a junior last year. The Mableton native is tough to tackle and he knows how to break tackles after the catch. He’s an excellent blocker on the outside, but his ability to catch the football consistently is what makes him one of the best in Cobb County. He’s great in the screen game, and once he gets some space, he shows good burst and can get upfield in a hurry. He runs hard behind his pads and is tough to bring down by just one defender. He’s toughness and physicality allows him to break tackles, but he has some finesse to his game as well. He’s not a speed demon, but he can beat defenses with his reliable hands and physical presence. He also shows good ball skills and can bring down the ball in tight coverage. As a junior last fall, Adams Jr was extremely productive and one of the best in his region, catching 54 passes for 936 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in 11 games. He’s still an under the radar WR to know in Georgia for the 2023 class.

Jevell Fugerson – Lee County
It looks like the Lee County Trojans have another SEC prospect on the team, and it’s 2023 wide-out Jevell Fugerson. The 6-foot-1 195-pounder is a big bodied playmaker who is finally starting to see some interest coming his way after an excellent junior season. The South Georgia standout shows plenty of speed for his size and plays the ball in the air as well as anyone in the area. He’s great in jump-ball situations, making him a major weapon in the red-zone and in 1-on-1 matchups. Fugerson shows big, strong hands and he’s developing more and more as a route runner. He’s quick out of his breaks, and knows how to get open, so as he develops more and more there, he could be tough to stop as a senior this fall. He’s a major downfield threat, and he should see plenty of opportunities to make big plays down the field in 2022. If the Trojans are going to make another championship run this year, they’ll need lots of big plays from Fugerson. The Lee County playmaker is now ranked as the No. 10 WR prospect and the No. 99 overall prospect in Georgia.

Nakai Poole Nakai Poole 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Norcross | 2023 State GA – Norcross
A breakout receiver in Gwinnett County last season, Poole is a big-play wideout who really excels after the catch, and is now ranked as the No. 6 WR prospect in Georgia. The 6-foot-3 205-pounder played against tough defensive backs every week last fall as a junior and held his own just about every Friday night. Poole proved to be one of the best pass-catchers in the region, catching 40 passes for 703 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has a true nose for the end-zone and made a lot of defensive backs look silly down the field this year. He agile, can stop on a dime, changes directions with ease, and showed he can be a touchdown threat after the catch. He’s a long strider, a smooth runner, and an above average route-runner for his class. He was a big-play waiting to happen last year and his stock continues to rise with this big jump in the Prep Redzone Rankings. Poole currently holds offers from Auburn, Boston College, App State, among others.
Timothy Brown Timothy Brown 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR Effingham County | 2023 State GA – Effingham County
The Savannah area has plenty of playmakers in the 2023 class, and Brown is one of the best returning receivers thee area has to offer. A quick, twitchy receiver who can be deadly with the ball in his hands, Brown stands at 6-foot-3 180-pounds and was a nightmare for defensive backs to cover one on one last fall. Brown, now ranked as the No. 15 WR prospect in the newest 2023 Rankings, showed he’s one of the best in the area after the catch. He always finds a hole in zone coverage, and when the defenders play man coverage, Brown knows how to create separations. He has decent size for his age and knows how to break tackles down the field. He’s a solid, reliable pass catcher, and he’s bound for a big senior season down in Savannah.
