As we draw near to summer workouts, look for plenty of players to continue to advance, including a few younger, 2024 prospects, who evidently have a very high ceiling. Below, take some time to check out some of the 2024 QB’s that we have in mind, who have shown the ability to trend upwards in plenty of great ways.
Rodge Waldrop- Brookwood
Immediately, when watching the film on Waldrop, it is evident that he not only has a strong arm, but he has a great pocket presence as well. He gets the ball out quickly, and he appears to see the field incredibly well. Waldrop’s footwork, and stance may be a bit raw, but he does a good job of releasing the ball in a timely manner, regardless of his mechanics. In addition to this, he does a great job of passing on intermediate and deep routes, but we would like to see his timing improve on more college-level throws. Waldrop also appears to be pretty athletic, which is very impressive, and it only adds to his high-end ability. Look for him to continue to trend upwards next season, further adding to his successful resume.
Prentiss Noland Prentiss Noland 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Langston Hughes | 2024 State GA – Langston Hughes
Not only is Noland continuing to trend upwards, but he is meeting a lot of the expectations that we have had for him for a few years now. Not only does he throw the ball incredibly well and efficiently, but he has shown to improve in his overall pocket presence and quarterback play. We like his athleticism, and the way that he uses his legs to buy time, and gain yards on the ground. He’s continuing to develop in his footwork, and ball placement on routes, which is evident in the film that he put out last season. Mechanically, we would like to see Noland improve his overall release at times, as well as the way he squares his shoulders on the move. Look for next season to be huge for him and his recruitment, as we think he is worthy of playing at the next level one day.
Jay Kanazawa Jay Kanazawa 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Schley County | 2024 State GA – Schley County
Out of all the players on this list, Kanazawa happens to be one of the most raw players. While he has a strong arm, and a good feel for the game, he also plays with happy feet, and questionable decision-making at times. In addition to this, Kanazawa does not have the biggest frame, but he plays well beyond his size. He appears to be able to see the field well and to make good decisions upon distributing the football. Going into next season, we imagine that his stock would rise, but we would like to see him play with more of an understanding of the overall game, as we think that being able to do so will take him to the next level next season. Regardless, he utilizes his offensive weapons very well, and we think that he has high upside as a prospect.
Neko Fann Neko Fann 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Colquitt County | 2024 State GA – Colquitt County
Not only were Fann’s statistics impressive last season, but he showed plenty of upside as a developing player. He uses his legs very well, and is very quick when he has the ball in his hands. As a passer, Fann has plenty of work to do, including his mechanics, and overall release of the football. Don’t let this fool you though, because he is very accurate, and his ball placement is very good on short and intermediate routes. One of the things we would like to see him improve on is his overall timing, and comfort in the pocket. If Fann progresses in these areas moving forward, he will continue to see more attention as a prospect, especially due to the program that he plays for.
