Here are the top-ranked wide receiver prospects in the latest update…
Adam Hopkins Adam Hopkins 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Thomas County Central | 2023 State GA – Thomas County Central
Coming in at No 1 in our wide receiver rankings is one of the top young playmakers in all of South Georgia. Hopkins, a dynamic athlete with great hands out of Thomasville makes a lot of plays both as a receiver and a defensive back for the Yellow Jackets. He’s not the biggest receiver at just 6-foot-0 170-pounds, but he’s a shifty player with quickness and impressive ball skills. The South Georgia star needs to add more muscle over time but he does have some length to him. He plays the ball well in the air and shows the ability to snatch the football over defenders. As a junior, Hopkins proved he was consistently one of the top athletes on the field every play. One of the top two-way players in South Georgia, Hopkins projects as top-notch receiver at the next level due to his consistent hands, burst, and playmaking ability. Hopkins holds offers from Georgia, Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, among others.
Cayden Lee – Kennesaw Mountain
Coming in at No. 2 in the Prep Redzone WR rankings is the talented route-runner out of Kennesaw Mountain. An experienced prospect entering his final season this fall, it’s easy to see the overall talent, dedication, and effort that Cayden Lee Cayden Lee 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Hillgrove | 2023 State GA brings to game. At 6-foot-0 180-pounds, Lee is a natural receiver and a silky-smooth route runner. He’s an incredibly twitchy receiver with great feet and the ability to create separation. He has soft hands and can be explosive with the ball in his hands. He’s great after the catch and has a handful of impressive D1 offers including Georgia, Auburn, FSU, Kentucky, among others. The former Westlake star has reliable hands and has the ability to get past defenders with ease. As a junior last fall, Lee caught 54 passes for over 1,000 yards and 11 TDs. They don’t much better than Lee in the 2023 class.
The leading receiver in all of 5A last year, the Augusta-area receiver couldn’t be stopped last year, catching an impressive 77 passes for 1,326 yards and 8 touchdowns. Ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 3 receiver prospect in the 2023 class, Leverett proved to everyone that he’s a big-play waiting to happen every time he has the ball in his hands. Leverett has great size at 6-foot-3 190-pounds, and while he uses his size to his advantage more often than not, he also deceptively quick. He’s a long strider so he can pick up yards in a hurry while out-running defenders once he gets a head of steam. He’s a reliable option in the screen game and showed to be a down-field threat as well. He also excelled in the return game, adding 316 kick return yards. He even lined up at running back at times around the goal-line as he rushed for six more touchdowns on the ground. In total, Leverett had 1,778 total yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior last fall.
Robert Lockhart III Robert Lockhart III 5'7" | 170 lbs | WR Langston Hughes | 2023 State GA – Langston Hughes
At No. 4 on our list is a quick, explosive playmaker currently committed to Jackson State. A dynamic, versatile receiver who can line up anywhere on the field, Lockhart is a special playmaker with the ball in his hands. He’s a great option when quarterbacks need to get rid of the football, and if he has space to run, he’s going to out-run most defenders. He has excellent straight-line speed and can score on any particular play. He’s on the smaller side physically, but his speed and explosiveness makes up for his lack of size. He’s tough to corral for bigger defenders and he knows how to make them miss in space. He’s a fun prospect to watch, and he’s one of the best in Georgia for the 2023 class.
