This Saturday, the PRZ Prospect Tour rolls into Pleasant Hill, IA, where we will host some of the top prospects in the Iowa-Nebraska area. Before the camp, I wanted to do a quick preview of the Nebraska prospects attending the event. In this feature, we will look at the C/O 2023 players that will be making the trip to Pleasant Hill.
On offense, we will see one of the top backs in the Omaha metro area in Papillion-La Vista South’s Devyn Jones Devyn Jones 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Papillion La Vista South | 2023 State NE . Devyn is a bigger back who is a great “in-between the tackles” runner with the jets to take off in the open field. Jones rushed for 874 yards, 12 touchdowns and averaged 109.3 rushing yards a game. Gretna’s Tyson Boganowski Tyson Boganowski 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Gretna | 2023 State NE and St. Cecilia’s Cooper Butler Cooper Butler 5'10" | WR St. Cecilia | 2023 State NE are two up-and-coming wideouts to keep an eye on throughout the camp. Tyson is a player primed to make a splash in 2022 after continuing to improve throughout his junior season. Boganowski finished with 22 catches for 188 yards and a receiving touchdown. Keep an eye out for Tyson’s footwork and route running, as I think they are some of the best in this year’s crop of wideouts. Cooper Butler Cooper Butler 5'10" | WR St. Cecilia | 2023 State NE was St. Cecilia’s leading receiver in 2021 with 42 receptions for 653 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. He is a physical receiver who can pick up extra yards after the catch and doesn’t mind taking on some contact. Blair’s Seagan Packett Seagan Packett 6'2" | 295 lbs | OL Blair | 2023 State NE is the lone NE OL prospect but he’s definitely a great representative. Packett is an interior lineman that shows great POP in his tape. Seagan does a great job finishing his blocks and playing through the whistle.
Offensive players:
Devyn Jones Devyn Jones 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Papillion La Vista South | 2023 State NE (RB) | Papillion-La Vista | 6’0″ 210 lbs
Tyson Boganowski Tyson Boganowski 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Gretna | 2023 State NE (WR) | Gretna | 5’10″ 170 lbs
Cooper Butler Cooper Butler 5'10" | WR St. Cecilia | 2023 State NE (WR) | St. Cecilia | 5’10″
Seagan Packett Seagan Packett 6'2" | 295 lbs | OL Blair | 2023 State NE (OL) | Blair | 6’2″ 295 lbs
For defense, we have a few players that you should run to buy stock in quickly! Ashland-Greenwood’s Luke Lambert Luke Lambert 6'3" | 235 lbs | DL Ashland-Greenwood | 2023 State NE is a versatile big man that could play offensive or defensive line. Lambert was a huge contributor to the Bluejay’s defense with 70 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and forced 3 fumbles. Luke is a player that is relentless with his pursuit and plays very disciplined with good hands. Lincoln Southwest’s Brogan Ling Brogan Ling 6'3" | 200 lbs | LB Lincoln Southwest | 2023 State NE is a very athletic outside linebacker that should see a jump in production with a bigger role in 2022. Ling racked up 45 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception as a junior. I believe Brogan can develop into one of the top edge-rushing threats in Class A. Bellevue West’s Caleb Jacobmeier Caleb Jacobmeier 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Bellevue West | 2023 State NE played a limited varsity role in 2022 but still managed to impress when he got on the field. He finished the year with 13 tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack, and a defended pass. Caleb’s size, versatility, and ability to rush the passer make him a very intriguing prospect going into the 2022 season. Plattsmouth’s Justice Kahler is a player I do not have a lot of tape on, but it looks like he finished the season with 15 tackles. I’m excited to meet Justice and watch him compete on Saturday.
