News and Notes 5-4 to 5-11

Another week has passed, and plenty has gone on in the Natural State over the past seven days. From new scholarship offers to events in and out of the state Arkansas. We have seen plenty of standouts over the past week and this is where we highlight it. Take a few minutes and catch up on everything that has happened over a short seven-day period. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75137" first="Jabrae" last="Shaw"]-Athlete-Little Rock Mills-2023</strong> Shaw is a player that can play anywhere on the field. In the secondary, he has proven to be a defensive back that can take a pass the opposite direction. On the offensive side of the ball, he is a player that has the skill to play the running back or wide receiver positions with equal effectiveness. Shaw has had a busy offseason and earlier this week he picked up a scholarship offer from Alcorn State University. I expect Shaw to earn more offers as the offseason continues. He is a player you will want to watch on Friday nights. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75129" first="DeAndra" last="Burns"] Jr.-Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2023 </strong> The El Dorado wide receiver has been a player to watch for several years. He is a wide receiver that has no trouble stretching the field. With several scholarship offers; including offers from Pitt and Arkansas, the El Dorado wide receiver picked up another scholarship offer this week. Burns Jr. is a prospect that has the speed needed to turn a short gain into an explosive one. I expect a big season from Burns Jr., and he has the potential to see plenty of action Saturdays in the future. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="239996" first="Aiden" last="Kennon"]-Wide Receiver-Greenwood-2023</strong> One detail to pay attention to involving the Greenwood Bulldogs is that they never have a shortage of talented wide receivers. Kennon is a prospect that runs smooth routes and creates separation using his route running. I expect a strong 2022 football season from Kennon. He has flown under the radar; however, he is a wide receiver to watch out for this season. Kennon picked up a well-deserved scholarship offer from Southwest Baptist University. Watch out for Kennon and the Bulldogs this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="304269" first="TJ" last="Lindsey"]-Defensive Line-Bryant-2024</strong> Over the past ten years, the Bryant Hornets have built a dynast in the state of Arkansas. Bryant has talent on both sides of the ball and plenty coming up through the ranks. [player_tooltip player_id="304269" first="TJ" last="Lindsey"] is a disruptive force along the defensive line. He has no trouble getting into the offensive backfield and rushing the quarterback. College coaches are starting to take notice of the work that Lindsey has put in over the past few years. Lindsey earned a scholarship offer from the Memphis Tigers earlier in the week. He is a prospect that I expect to have a big season in 2022. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153886" first="Charleston" last="Collins"]-Defensive Line-Pine Bluff-2024</strong> The 2024 recruiting class from a defensive perspective, is shaping up to be one of the most talented we have seen in quite a few years. One prospect in the 2024 class that is blowing up in terms of recruiting is [player_tooltip player_id="153886" first="Charleston" last="Collins"]. Collins has the speed and the power to take over a football game. He has that rare mix, where he can completely disrupt an offensive attack when he is clicking on all cylinders. Collins received a scholarship offer earlier in the week from the Colorado Buffaloes. Collins is set to have a big 2022 football season and I cannot wait to see what he does for an encore after a strong 2021 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75136" first="Garrion" last="Curry"]-Running Back-Magnolia-2023</strong> Curry is a running back that has a terrific burst when he explodes through the hole. The Magnolia running back is a patient runner that allows the rushing lane to develop before running. Curry picked up two scholarship offers this week. Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky each offered the talented running back this week. Curry is set to follow up an impressive 2021 season. I expect him to have a strong 2022 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="202575" first="Kane" last="Archer"]-Quarterback-Greenwood-2026</strong> Archer has been lighting up the 7-on-7 circuit over the past few weeks. He has a strong arm that can make all the throws. What stands out the most about Archer is the tight windows he can fit his passes into. Archer picked up a scholarship offer from the Arizona Wildcats earlier today. He is a quarterback that is only going to earn more offers over next few years. However, he is a quarterback to keep an eye on, he is just getting started. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="206541" first="Da'Shawn" last="Chairs"]-Running Back-Elkins-2024</strong> One running back that is continuing to open some eyes this offseason is Elkins running back [player_tooltip player_id="206541" first="Da'Shawn" last="Chairs"]. Chairs put on a show at the Select 50 Showcase this past weekend. He has the vision and the patience to take the ball the distance from anywhere on the field. Chairs is a running back that is going to continue to open some eyes as we draw closer to the 2022 season. He has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
