News and Notes 4-23 to 5-4

Time flies a bit quickly this time of year for folks in the Natural State. Spring football has started or will be starting soon for teams across Arkansas. We are going to look at some prospects that have had a strong few weeks whether it be running track and field events or picking up scholarship offers. Plenty of talented players in this group so the names on it will come as no surprise. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153886" first="Charleston" last="Collins"]-Defensive Lineman-Pine Bluff-2024</strong> The talented defensive lineman is starting to open up some eyes. He gets into the offensive backfield and is difficult for opposing offensive linemen to account for when blocking him. The past few weeks have seen Collins pick up scholarship offers from Grambling, Ole Miss, and the University of Arkansas. Collins has a high ceiling, and he is just beginning to tap into his potential. Look out for Collins this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149579" first="Dax" last="Goff"]-Linebacker-Booneville-2024</strong> Goff has had a busy offseason. Suiting up for the Booneville baseball team as well as the track team. Goff has performed extremely well in both placing in state competition in the long jump this spring. Meanwhile, keep an eye on him this football season as he looks to produce another fine season for the Bearcats. After a strong 2021 football season, I would expect an even stronger 2022 season. He is a prospect to keep an eye on this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="236139" first="Omarion" last="Robinson"]-Defensive Back-Little Rock Parkview-2025</strong> The Little Rock Parkview defensive back continues to rake in scholarship offers. Over the past few days he earned an offer from the Red Wolves of Arkansas State. What sticks out the most about Robinson’s play is that he does not shy away from delivering an attack. He does a good job of making plays on the ball. Robinson can pick off a pass and take it the other direction. Robinson is a prospect to keep an eye on this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106786" first="Amarie" last="Rogers"]-Tight End-Maumelle-2023</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="106786" first="Amarie" last="Rogers"] is a prospect that continues to improve over the offseason. The Maumelle tight end has picked up a scholarship offer from the Memphis Tigers. Rogers is one of the prospects that had a solid 2021 season and is looking to raise the bar even higher this season. He is a tight end that gets open and has the speed to present problems to the opposing defense. I expect Rogers to earn more scholarship offers over the next few months and he is a player to watch in 2022. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75129" first="DeAndra" last="Burns"] Jr- Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2023</strong> One of the most explosive wide receivers in the state of Arkansas is [player_tooltip player_id="75129" first="DeAndra" last="Burns"] Jr. The El Dorado wide receiver does an excellent job of creating separation from opposing defensive backs by using his speed. Burn has earned a scholarship offer from the University of Arkansas and yesterday he was able to add another offer. Florida Atlantic University made a scholarship offer to Burns Jr. I look for him to have a strong 2022 season and continue the solid work he has produced over the past two seasons. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149571" first="Walker" last="White"]-Quarterback-Little Rock Christian Academy-2024</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="149571" first="Walker" last="White"] has had an extremely productive offseason, to go along with a terrific 2021 football season. The scholarship offers are starting to accumulate for this talented signal caller. White earned a scholarship offer from West Virginia this week. He already displays tremendous accuracy and is not afraid to throw on the run. White is a quarterback that can throw with touch or burn the pass into his receivers when needed. He is one prospect that I expect to continue earn offers over the next few months. The ceiling is extremely high for the Little Rock Christian product. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153937" first="Jaylin" last="McKinney"]-Wide Receiver-Pulaski Academy-2023</strong> The Pulaski Academy wide receiver has a knack for making big plays. McKinney racked up 74 receptions for 1.349 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. He has already earned an offer from Southern Arkansas and this week he was able to pick up one from Missouri Southern. McKinney is a student of the game, and he is a prospect that I expect to have a strong season in 2022. McKinney is a wide receiver to keep an eye on this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75136" first="Garrion" last="Curry"]-Running Back-Magnolia-2023</strong> The Magnolia running back picked up a state championship running the hurdles earlier this week. He is a talented running back with the speed to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. With several scholarship offers to his credit; Curry is a running back with the potential to have a strong 2022 season. He is certainly a running back to watch out for this season.
