Mississippi is always home to some of the nation’s best offensive linemen, and this year is no different. Through our film evaluations, we identified several new offensive linemen who have been added to our most recent rankings update. This class has a whole lot of dominant blockers in the run and pass game who will be contributors at the next level. Let’s dive into our latest additions to the 2023 OL class.

An interior lineman out of Adams County Christian, [player_tooltip player_id="340774" first="Edarius" last="Green"] was the center for one of the most talented offensive lines in the state last season. Standing at 6’5" 305, Green has the size and frame that college coaches love to see. Green is a physical and powerful player who uses his strength to dominate opposing defenders. He plays with good pad level and stays low on contact, helping himself drive back defensive linemen and work to the second level. Green plays the game with a chip on his shoulder and finishes every block through the whistle. In pass protection, Green has a strong first punch and does a great job at mirroring his defenders movements. Green currently holds offers from Southwest, Co-Lin, and Hinds, but this list should continue to grow with time.

A 6’5" 260 pound tackle out of Clinton, [player_tooltip player_id="340824" first="Griffin" last="Berch"] had a monster season as a junior. The rising star offensive lineman has some of the best athleticism in all of the new additions to this offensive line class. Berch shows the ability to bend into his stance and fire off the ball at a low level. He has quick and active feet that help him drive defenders back, work to the second level, and play in space in the screen game. A technician at the line of scrimmage, Berch has great hand placement when he blocks and knows how to get engaged with any defensive lineman he goes up against. In pass protection, he has a smooth pas set to him and has the footwork to keep up with speedy edge rushers. Currently listing offers from Louisiana Monroe, East Mississippi, Coahoma, and Southwest, Berch is just now seeing his recruitment take off.

A two way player in the trenches, Amory’s [player_tooltip player_id="281786" first="Hayden" last="Dozier"] has some of the most fun tape to watch in the offensive line class. This is a guy that plays with a motor like no other. Dozier stands at 6’3" 280 and spent most of his time at guard last season. The rising senior has great mobility for a big man and plays the game with a lot of power. When Dozier gets hands on, it is game over for opposing defensive players. His upper body strength combined with his lower leg drive makes him hard to stop when he gets a full head of steam going. Although Amory didn’t throw the ball around a lot, Dozier’s overall athletic make up will help him be an anchor on an offensive line as a pass protector. Currently listing offers from Southwest and East Mississippi, Dozier’s recruitment is just getting started.

A dominant run blocking tackle, [player_tooltip player_id="340777" first="Kane" last="Edwards"] stands at 6’2" 290. Edwards showed a ton of growth as a player from his sophomore to junior year, finding himself in this rankings update after a big year. The rising senior plays with a good base and loves seeking contact. Edwards fires off the ball and has the flexibility to turn guys outside and drive them to the sideline. He has a powerful upper body and quick feet that make him a hard blocker to defeat. Edwards also plays the game with a lot tenacity, finishing every block with some anger to it and bouncing back to the line of scrimmage. He currently holds an offer from Pearl River, but should see more action as the year goes on.

A long and athletic tackle from Saint Stanislaus, [player_tooltip player_id="312603" first="Fulton" last="Ascherl"] stands at 6’4" 275. Ascherl has some of the best pass blocking tape from all the new additions. He plays with a good base and has quick and active feet that help him keep up with edge rushers. With a powerful first punch, Ascherl can knock defenders off their path and quickly reset to mirror them. As a run blocker, Ascherl thrives in the zone game and in space as a puller in gap schemes. His athleticism helps him work to the second level quickly, clearing the lane for his running back to have a big hole to get through. Ascherl currently holds offers from Pearl River, Coahoma, Co-Lin, and East Mississippi.

Standing at a massive 6’5" 350 pounds, guard prospect [player_tooltip player_id="340828" first="Jeremy" last="Flora"] is one of the largest new additions to the entire rankings update. Flora plays on the left side of the interior offensive line, but could bump out to tackle at the next level too. This guy thrives in gap running schemes and is dangerous as a pulling guard. When he gets on his path, anybody standing in the way usually ends up on their back. Flora has a ton of natural strength to him and easily bulldozes defenders in his way. Flora also spends time of the defensive line and thrives as a run stuffer who can take up multiple gaps. Currently listing offers from Mississippi Gulf Coast, East Mississippi, and Co-Lin among others, Flora will have no shortage of opportunities at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="340820" first="Bracken" last="Bertram"] | West Harrison
A powerlifting guard out of Harrison Central, [player_tooltip player_id="340820" first="Bracken" last="Bertram"] has no shortage of strength to him. The 6’2" 260 rising senior boasted a 615 pound squat, 315 pound bench press, and 600 pound dead lift this spring in his South State meet. As a football player, this strength carries over easily. Bertram is a violent player who can bulldoze defenders in his way. He thrives as a run blocker and has the athleticism to get hands on any defender he is asked to attack. Bertram also looks great in space as a pulling guard. He currently holds one offer from Grinell College, but many more schools will start to take note of him soon.

Another talented Pascagoula offensive lineman checks in to our rankings additions. [player_tooltip player_id="340871" first="Zackery" last="Kammer"] stands at 6’5" 260 and looks to be playing right tackle this upcoming season. Kammer is an athletic big man who has quick feet in the open field. He does a great job at working to the second level and taking on incoming linebackers and safeties. Kammer is a technician as a blocker and uses his leverage to win the majority of his match ups. His clean footwork and lower pad level allows him to drive defenders back and open up holes in the run game. Kammer currently holds an offer from Pearl River, but watch for him to continue to add interest as the season progresses.
