After popular demand we are back with volume 3 of Texas Maulers on the rise!

Every legitimate team has to have linemen upfront that can control the line of scrimmage and protect the passer.
It’s imperative to be able to line it up and knock a defensive linemen back to gain a first down in any situation. A mauler by definition is an offensive linemen who has the ability to come off the ball and create displacement and move the defender with the hips in the run game. These furniture movers are some of guys that have stood out to me so far.

Jordan Rowe - South Oak cliff high school - Class of 2024

Jordan is a rising prospect out of South Oak Cliff high school that has all of the intangibles and measurables to become a national recruit. He is a stout 6’3, 290-pound offensive linemen that has shown the ability to control the line of scrimmage. He had great flashes of dominance on tape last year where he mauled defenders with leverage at the point of attack.
He is fun to watch in the run game because he knows how to strain to finish. He did a great job running his hips through his blocks and did a good job finishing through the echo of the whistle.
Once he gets his two steps in the ground and his hands latched onto the defender the matchup is usually over before it starts.
He has an impressive base, strike, hips, and hand placement.

Him and his brother Jaden Rowe will a play a huge role in SOC’s hopes to repeat as state champions.

[player_tooltip player_id="287010" first="Derrick" last="Eddlemon"] - La Vernia High School - Class of 2024

Derrick is a second generation @LT2FBA trainee that has taken advantage of the weight room and transformed his body and game. He also recently earned his first scholarship offer from the University of North Texas. Derrick has done a great job taking the drills from training to his daily routine, to the field and people are starting to notice. For example, some of the biggest areas of improvement that I have seen in him has been his posture, patience, strike, and ability to play with the insteps in the ground. His snap and trigger at center has also vastly improved and he is starting to become comfortable playing all five positions.

Ziggy Davis - Lewisville High School- Class of 2024

Ziggy is a massive interior offensive linemen out of Lewisville, Texas. He stands at 6’4 and weighs in at a massive 370 pounds. Ziggy epitomizes the term mauler because he has the ability to set his pads and virtually walk any defender in Texas High school football off of the line of scrimmage in the run game. He holds a 4.0 GPA and was an all-conference performer last year for the Farmers.

He is a big, nimble, strong, and well-coached prospect that shines at the point of attack. I am excited to see how he competes for the rest of the summer. He has shed a ton of bad weight and has reshaped his frame and built up his endurance, I predict that he will soon have scholarship offers rolling in soon. His play and leadership will be an instrumental piece to the Farmers playoff hopes next fall.
