Continue ReadingThis upcoming season we will see many great athletes help will their team to victories. But the quarterback position is arguably the most important player on the field. Leading the offense and being a leader for the entire team, a lot rides on their shoulders. This season, keep an eye out on these players in the state to show their skills and help their team win games this fall.
Luke Moga│Quarterback│6’2″ 186 lbs│Sunnyslope
The very first play you see when you turn on Luke’s tape is a perfect throw while he is rolling left to a covered wide receiver. That sums up his skill set. He is a very talented athlete and helped his team by playing multiple positions. When your quarterback is returning kickoffs, he is special. As for the QB role, he has great ability to escape collapsing pockets and able to throw on the run at ease. Luke has a great arm, but shows great touch on short drag routes. Would like to see him work on setting his feet and staying in the pocket for just a second longer, but he does very well with the pocket he is given.
Great first time at UNC! Thank you for having me! I can’t wait to get back here🦶@NineintheBox @_CoreyCooper_ @CoachPhilLongo @Stumpf_Brian @seaman842 @SlopeFootball @KevinMcCabe987 @BrianDohn247 @CodyTCameron @azc_obert pic.twitter.com/VaATxGCEYH

Connor Ackerley Connor Ackerley 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Corona Del Sol | 2024 State AZ │Quarterback│6’1″ 160 lbs│Corona Del Sol
Connor looks the part as a great leader and quarterback. He stands in the pocket strong and with great confidence that jumps off the screen watching him play. He throws the ball on a frozen rope to his wide outs and the ball is placed perfectly. He shows the arm strength on multiple occasions with throws outside the numbers, making long cross the field throws look easy. He has the ability to tuck it and run as well for a first down when needed. Connor is also very good at taking what the offense gives him and knows where his check downs are when the blitz is swarming down on him. If Connor can improve on looking at multiple options and both sides of the field more consistently, he will be unstoppable to game plan around.
Diego Ramirez│Quarterback│6’2″ 150 lbs│Pueblo High
Diego is a tall and strong quarterback coming out of Tucson, Arizona. He has a strong rocket of an arm, and can throw a deep ball as good as anyone. The ability to roll out both ways and be accurate allows them to run any play in any direction. Diego uses his eyes and head movement to his advantage, looking off safeties and linebackers which allows him to open up what he wants. Working on being quicker with his decisions will allow him to make easier reads which will only bring success this season for Pueblo High School.

Leonardo Valencia│Quarterback│5’10″ 173 lbs│Cibola
Leonardo drops the football in a bucket. He drops 40 yard passes in the hands of his receivers so perfectly you cannot place it any better. He sets his feet and body while rolling the opposite way which is very rare to see in young quarterbacks which is a huge plus. Most of the time young athletes let it rip while on the roll which can cause inaccurate balls which leads to turnovers. Not Leonardo. He takes his time and is very accurate because of it. His accuracy shows by getting the ball into tight windows, being able to beat multiple defenders that are draped on his guys. He is also a dual threat athlete so getting him out in space only helps your offense pick up big chunk plays. He is coming off a covid season, so watch out for him to explode on the scene this fall.
2022 will be a huge year for the state of Arizona, and these quarterbacks will have something to say about it. Coming from all over the state, these studs will be having their name out there and will be great leaders this fall.
