Here, we break down some of the top performers on each team and what the future has in store for them.
Creekview
LB – Reed Anderson – 2023
In my opinion, Reed Anderson was the MVP of the evening. Anderson is a true “old school” LB. At first glance, you might think he plays on the defensive line, but nope. Instead, Anderson is a downhill and physical player from the ILB position. He might have not been the fastest player on the field, but he played with tons of hustle and was a factor in almost every play. Looking back, I heard his name called more than anybody else on either team. He has yet to see his recruitment pick-up, but another big season could allow that to happen.
LB/EDGE – Isaac Hubert Isaac Hubert 6'2" | 230 lbs | LB Creekview | 2023 State GA – 2023
Coming into the game. Hubert had seen his recruitment take off in a huge way this spring. Offers from schools like Army, Navy, UAB, MTSU, Tennessee Tech, and numerous others have rolled in during the spring. Yesterday, Hubert validated why those offers were rolling in. Physically, there was nobody on the field that could contain him. When you look at his impressive build and add in the fact that he is incredibly explosive, that should be no surprise.
CB – Taylor Cox-Young – 2023
In my opinion, TCY is one of the most underrated players in the state. His combination of speed, physicality, and length is perfect for a PO5 CB. TCY showed some impressive focus when reeling in a tip-drill INT, he then proceeded to show off his elite speed by breaking off a decent return. There were also numerous other plays where he dictated the outcome using his speed to lock up receivers. A recent offer from Stetson is all TCY has under his belt right now, but I believe that’s about to change.
QB – Austin Guest – 2025
Guest got off to a slow start, but he eventually settled in and scored both of the TDs on the night for the Grizzlies. Guest was on all evening throwing to the field side and throwing on the run. Once he settled in and found the touch on his deep ball, he proved why he is one of the most talked-about 2025 QBs in Georgia. He made a beautiful throw on a fade route to the back corner of the endzone and later made another good TD throw over the middle of the field over defenders. With a big sophomore season, Guest could see his recruitment take off.
Forsyth Central
ATH – Luke Sacchetti – 2023
Sacchetti is one of the impact players for the Bulldogs, and he proved why on Thursday. On the defensive line, Sacchetti was a force to be reckoned with all night. His pure size and strength alone are a lot for anyone to handle. He demanded double teams and clogged running lanes all night. When he was in the game, the defense instantly got a boost. Sacchetti recently added an offer from Stetson and has visited some other schools. His ability to be an impact player on the offensive and defensive line will prove extremely valuable for him at the next level.
WR – Cade Haertel – 2023
Haertel is a prospect that you have likely never heard of, but he proved his worth Thursday night. He was targeted early and often, both in the air and on the ground running the sweep game. While he is smaller in stature, he played with tons of physicality. In fact, he made an incredible TD grab where he made a contested test and shoved a bigger defender into the ground before walking in for a TD. All in all, Haertel looks like a consistent and reliable player that should be an impact player for the Bulldogs throughout the season.
