While these players are very talented, they can’t do it all on their own. One of my favorite sayings I’ve heard on the football field is “it all starts up front.” This statement is very true in this state as there have been an abundance of very impressive offensive linemen to come out of Kentucky in the past several years. With that in mind, here are five senior offensive linemen that will be looking to carry on that tradition.
Austin Anderson| 6’4″, 295 lbs.| Bowling Green High School| Junior Year Film
Anderson is a versatile offensive lineman that has shown that he can play all five positions on the offensive line during his high school career. While he can play on the outside very easily, I like him best on the interior due to the physicality that he plays with. As a run blocker, he has great hand placement and drives his feet. He is a very violent finisher on his blocks. He also does a good job of using his strength as a pass blocker, tossing pass rushers to the side before they can get anywhere close to the quarterback. Anderson currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Marshall, Murray State, Southeast Missouri, UT Martin, Indiana State, Air Force, Army, and East Tennessee State and I expect that list to grow rapidly this summer as well as during his senior season.
Braiden Myers| 6’4″, 280 lbs.| Southwestern High School| Junior Year Film
Myers holds down the left tackle spot for a Southwestern offensive line that paved the way to a 3,370 yard rushing season last year. He creates movement and is a very aggressive finisher as a run blocker. Myers also does a great job of getting to the second level in the run game and constantly finding work. In pass protection, he sets a very strong anchor, making it very difficult for pass rushers to get to his inside gap. Myers currently holds an offer from Austin Peay and I believe several other coaches will be sending him offers in the near future.
Demoni Taylor| 6’3″, 265 lbs.| North Hardin High School| Junior Year Film
Taylor is a dominant left tackle that has already made a big name for himself, receiving a ton of Division I interest. He currently holds offers from Indiana State, Southeast Missouri, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Austin Peay, UT Martin, and Murray State. Taylor plays with a very high motor, running his feet on contact and finishing with a ton of physicality as a run blocker. He also has the athleticism and footwork to be reliable in the passing game and keeps working to make sure that his quarterback is protected. Taylor has also shown that he has the speed and athleticism to pull as a lead blocker on the outside from the tackle spot. I fully expect him to be a name on a ton of college radars this summer.
Trevon Alexander Trevon Alexander 6'7" | 345 lbs | OL North Hardin | 2023 State KY | 6’6″, 350 lbs.| North Hardin High School| Junior Year Film
North Hardin is a running back’s dream as they have two Division I caliber offensive linemen to run behind in Taylor and his teammate Trevon Alexander Trevon Alexander 6'7" | 345 lbs | OL North Hardin | 2023 State KY . Like Taylor, Alexander already holds offers, his being from Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky. After starting off his career at right tackle, he was moved inside to guard last season and has thrived at his new position. Taylor is a true mauler in the run game who creates movement off the line of scrimmage and creates piles of defenders with his finishing ability. In the passing game, he moves very well for a lineman of his stature, showing very good footwork and the ability to stay in front of defenders with a strong base. After already picking up an SEC offer, it is just a matter of time before more follow.
Drew Dickerson| 6’5″, 310 lbs.| Ryle High School| Junior Year Film
My last name on my list may be the only one without an official Division I offer but make no mistake about it, he belongs in the conversation of the best offensive linemen in the state for his class. This offensive tackle plays with a mean streak that coaches love to see with the ability to create movement but also plays through the whistle and finishes his blocks with a ton of physicality. While he stands out in the run game, he is also very reliable in pass protection with excellent footwork and the ability to kick back and mirror pass rushers coming off the edge. I fully expect the offers to start coming in for Dickerson as he has already started receiving interest from some Division I programs.
