We see transfers every offseason and we also see new prospects move into Oklahoma every offseason. But this offseason, we saw two defenders that are incredibly talented move in from Alabama and Texas. Up first, 2023 defensive back Dale Miller Dale Miller 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Deer Creek | 2023 State OK is now at Deer Creek after playing at national powerhouse Hoover. Also, 2024 defensive lineman XaDavien Sims XaDavien Sims 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL Durant | 2024 State OK has moved north of the red river and has landed in Durant after playing at Sherman for the first two years of his high school career. We checked out both prospects on film and Deer Creek and Durant just got better. These prospects would both be considered top ten prospects within their respective classes in-state. We break down both prospects below.

– 2023 Defensive Back – Deer Creek
(Moves To Oklahoma From Hoover, Alabama)
Deer Creek is coming off a run to the Class 6A-2 state championship game and they just got a defensive back prospect that would be considered a top ten overall prospect in the state’s 2023 class right now. Dale Miller Dale Miller 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Deer Creek | 2023 State OK comes to Deer Creek from Alabama powerhouse Hoover. Earlier this year, Miller tweeted out that he would not be returning to Hoover for his senior season because he was headed to Florida’s IMG Academy. Well, instead of Florida, he’s heading to Oklahoma and will be establishing a no fly zone on the Deer Creek defense. Taking a look at Miller on film from his sophomore and junior years at Hoover, the first thing that really stands out is Miller’s instincts. He knows where to be and reads the receiver’s eyes incredibly well and knows when the balls is going to be there. And that’s when the ball skills come into play. Miller is an impact player and great addition for the Antlers.

– 2024 Defensive Lineman – Durant
(Moves To Oklahoma From Sherman, Texas)
The prospect we knew much more about was Durant’s new defensive lineman XaDavien Sims XaDavien Sims 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL Durant | 2024 State OK . I first saw the 2024 standout in a 7v7 tryout at the Durant-based training facility C4. Sims was just a freshman at the time but he didn’t look like a freshman even then. He’s gone on to be an absolute game-wrecker of a defensive lineman over the last few seasons down at Sherman and like Miller, has been offered by power five programs all over the country. In my opinion, Sims immediately becomes the state’s top 2024 prospect with Del City’s David Stone now at the IMG Academy in Florida. We’ll be updating our prospect rankings next month but we expect for Sims to be in that top spot. He is an absolute monster on the line of scrimmage and Durant’s opponents this fall are going to have a tough time keeping him out of the backfield.
