Most of these athletes have flown a bit under the radar over the last few years with some recently picking up their first offer and others who are still patiently waiting. Below, we will highlight and breakdown some emerging athletes to keep a close eye on through this Summer and into the Fall.
LB Ryder Bordner, Bishop Kelly HS
Bordner recently picked up his first offer from College of Idaho and is a true running stopping plug in the middle of the Bishop Kelly defense. He is a downhill and physical player that loves contact and plays with a high motor. For his size, he moves very well when weaving through traffic to get into the backfield and displays strong closing speed while a very sure tackler in the open field. Due to his size, strength and short area explosion, he will fit nicely at the inside linebacker position in college and should continue to gather interest as he moves through his senior year.
OL Alex Green, Lake City HS
Green recently picked up his first offer from the University of Idaho and should see other Big Sky interest come his way as he enters his senior season. He is a very athletic prospect that moves well for his size and is a natural bender in his stance. He has the ideal frame for the tackle position and shows a strong initial punch and can finish blocks downfield and take good angles to linebackers when climbing to the second level. In pass protection, he is strong enough to anchor against bull rushers and can get out to his spot with quick feet and a wide base against speed rushers while flushing them out of the pocket with a strong inside punch.
LB Logan Blades, Kuna HS
Blades is a D-III+ player that can play multiple positions at the next level. Although a bit undersized, he is a powerful and strong kid in the box there is a two down thumper that is very effective when applying pressure in the passing game and can rush the passer up the middle when needed. He is a high motor kid that can track down ball carriers outside the tackles and has a quick trigger and high football IQ when diagnosing plays.
QB Caleb Loveland, Burley HS
Loveland is a very efficient quarterback in the short and intermediate throw game while able to throw outside of the pocket and across his body accurately. He has a quick release and scans the field well while not afraid to throw the ball into tight windows with good zip. When throwing vertically he shows he can air it out over the top with good velocity and throw power. He is a smart player that moves through his progressions while in the pocket and is not afraid to take what is given underneath. Loveland is a under-rated athlete that can run if needed and does a good job at buying time in the pocket with his legs.
DL Seva Morinov, Rocky Mountain HS
Mironov is a very disruptive player from the interior defensive line position and has a explosive first step while shooting his hands quickly with inside placement and resetting the line of scrimmage right away. He does a good job at getting underneath blockers and winning with a low pad level and initial power at the point of attack. Violently able to get off blocks quickly, he collapses the pocket and can track down ball in the open field. When rushing the passer, he displays a quick use of hands while showing a wide range of pass rush moves at his disposal. Although a bit undersized in the right system and on the right team he can make an impact at the next level somewhere on the defense or even make the transition to linebacker.
