In the trenches are where the games are won and loss during the fall. The state of Arkansas does an excellent job of producing quality offensive linemen. The focus for the purpose of this article is the 2024 offensive line class in the state of Arkansas. With several prospects that will anchor their school’s respective offensive lines this coming season.
[player_tooltip player_id="149536" first="Vinny" last="Winters"]-Malvern-6’4” 290-Pounds
With scholarship offers from Memphis, Arkansas, and Arkansas State to his credit the Malvern offensive lineman is looking to add to his total this season. Winters has very quick feet and gets out of the stance into the opposing defensive lineman quickly. He is an offensive lineman that can clear a path for his running back with little effort. Winters is looking to get to the second level of defenders with every snap. He is a prospect that will be playing on Saturdays in the future.
[player_tooltip player_id="149537" first="Lane" last="Jeffcoat"]-Bentonville West-6’9” 310-Pounds
Once Jeffcoat gets ahold of you it can be difficult to create separation. He moves his feet well and has good length at the tackle position. Jeffcoat uses his strength and length extremely well and will be a nightmare for opposing edge rushers this season. The Bentonville West offensive lineman has the potential to play on Saturdays. He has the instincts, the power, and the length to cause plenty of problems for opposing defensive lines over the next two years.
[player_tooltip player_id="149538" first="Chauncey" last="Johnson"]-Lonoke-6’5” 300-Pounds
[player_tooltip player_id="149538" first="Chauncey" last="Johnson"] is an offensive lineman that plays with a chip on his shoulder. He is a tackle that finishes the play and drives the opposing defender into the ground. Johnson is a prospect that can punish opposing defensive linemen with his run blocking. However, his pass blocking is very consistent, and he is someone that you will not overpower. I expect Johnson to open some eyes this season and continue to be a powerhouse for a talented Lonoke football team.
[player_tooltip player_id="149539" first="Hunter" last="Marshall"]-Farmington-5’8” 245-Pounds
One of the most intelligent offensive linemen that I have come across over the years. He is an offensive lineman that uses his speed extremely well to get into opposing defensive linemen. From the center position, he snaps the ball well and does not make mistakes. Marshall is a strong player and uses the mix of power and speed well to catch opposing defensive players of guard. Marshall has flown under the radar, but he does everything ask of him and more with the Cardinals of Farmington.
[player_tooltip player_id="153601" first="Chris" last="McCoy"]-Camden Fairview-6’5” 310-Pounds
Over the years, Camden Fairview has done an excellent job of producing quality offensive linemen. The class of 2024 is no different. [player_tooltip player_id="153601" first="Chris" last="McCoy"] plays the tackle position with impressive consistency. He has no trouble clearing a path for his running backs. McCoy has the power to cause edge rushers problems when attempting to get to the opposing quarterback. McCoy is going to be an interesting offensive linemen watch develop over the next couple of years. The potential is there to play on Saturdays in the future.
[player_tooltip player_id="173892" first="Charlie" last="Vandenberg"]-Ozark-6’3” 295-Pounds
Vandenberg is an offensive lineman that does a great job of displaying his power. He has no problem overpowering opposing linemen and clearing a rushing path. Meanwhile, he is a consistent pass blocker he does a good job of using his length and getting into the opposing defensive player. Vandenberg is another offensive lineman that has plenty of potential and I look forward to seeing him surpass it over the next couple of years. Keep an eye on Vandenberg, he is just getting started.
