Avondale Program Visit Notes

Earlier today, I had the opportunity to visit the Avondale Yellowjackets football program. A division 3 school in the OAA Gold, Avondale is a team with a ton of young talent, and they’re aiming for a very doable OAA Gold title. In this article, I will say a few words about three of their top prospects. <strong>MLB [player_tooltip player_id="216988" first="Myles" last="Moore"]</strong> Myles was a standout last season and the one athlete I’ve heard the most praise for this offseason. Physically he’s looking the part, standing at a muscular 5’11 190 (hudl). I know he’s been one of, if not the best performer in the Yellowjacket weight room this offseason. Moore will be a game-changer on the defensive side of the ball for Avondale. <strong>IOL/DT Cameron Washington </strong> A ’25 lineman with a ton of upside, Cameron Washington started on varsity last season and has been active during the offseason. His film shows good power but a ton of room to improve when it comes to technique. Right now, he’s a brick wall that can move bodies, making him an ideal IOL or DT. Cameron Washington is a sure-fire prospect to watch moving forward. <strong>DE [player_tooltip player_id="300167" first="Denzel" last="White"]</strong> Denzel is one of the most under-the-radar players in the OAA. He was Avondale’s leading tackler in 2021 and was an absolute game-changer on the defensive side of the ball. He looked small for the defensive line on tape, but he showed great hands and overall instincts. Head Coach Corey Bell tells me he’s been working his tail off in the weight room, and Denzel is looking football-ready.
