Weekends this time of year in the state of Arkansas are always a busy experience. Prep RedZone Arkansas was in attendance at the Fayetteville spring football game on Friday night. We also will be discussing the Arkansas Tech football camp going on this weekend. Today we are going to look at some standouts from both Arkansas Tech camp and from spring football around the state.
Deuce Cooper-Defensive Back-Fayetteville-2023
Deuce Cooper is back in Northwest Arkansas after a year in Alabama. He looked impressive on Friday night. The level of play is still very high for the Fayetteville cornerback. Cooper is an aggressive defensive back that does a great job of separating the ball from the ball carrier. He performed well on Friday night and was consistent bringing the wide receivers down when he made the tackles. Cooper has the potential to have a solid season in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="193069" first="Donnie" last="Cheers"]-Wide Receiver-Marion-2023
Cheers earned all-conference honors last season. He has terrific speed and is a wide receiver that can create separation using his speed. Cheers has good hands and does a good job of catching the ball before running. Over the weekend, Cheers picked up scholarship offers from Arkansas Tech University and Missouri Southern. He is a prospect that will earn more offers over the next few months, and I expect a big season from the Marion Patriot.
[player_tooltip player_id="193150" first="Trevor" last="Martinez"]-Offensive Line-Bentonville-2023
The Bentonville offensive lineman had the opportunity to visit Northwest Missouri State over the weekend. Martinez is a player that plays with a chip on his shoulder and looks to finish every block he makes. He has no problems clearing a rushing lane and is looking to block at the second level. Martinez is solid when it comes to his pass blocking and is a prospect that will not remain under the radar. Bentonville has a talented offensive line going into the 2022 football season.
Karter Sanders-Offensive Line-Benton-2023
Sanders paid a visit to Arkansas Tech over the weekend and was able to put in some work. Sanders has quick feet and gets out of the stance quickly. He has a good mix of speed and power and is a prospect to keep an eye on this season. Sanders is a versatile player that has worked at both the center and guard position. He had a strong 2021 football season and is a prospect that I expect to open some eyes in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="319180" first="Miguel" last="Graham"]-Defensive Back-Bryant-2023
The Bryant defensive back has continued a strong offseason this weekend. Graham spent the weekend at Arkansas Tech University as well. Prep RedZone Arkansas has mentioned Graham’s impressive speed before and this weekend he did not disappoint. Graham ran a solid 4.52 forty time in Russellville. However, Graham’s weekend was not over, he picked up camp invitation from the Central Arkansas staff. I expect a big season from Graham.
[player_tooltip player_id="259657" first="Jadyn" last="Johnson"]-Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2025
Johnson has had a strong offseason which has extended into an impressive spring football showing earlier in the week. He had an impressive showing in Russellville this weekend. The Van Buren wide receiver displays good hands and quickness. Johnson runs smooth routes and has done a great job of doing it on a consistent basis. He is a prospect that has the potential to have a strong season in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="149539" first="Hunter" last="Marshall"]-Offensive Line-Farmington-2024
Marshall had an excellent season in 2021. He has kept up the great work over the offseason. Marshall’s snaps have stayed consistent, and he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He uses his speed well to cause problems for opposing defensive linemen. Marshall has deceptive power and is a prospect that did well at the Arkansas Tech camp over the weekend. The 2022 season has the potential to be a strong one for the Farmington center.
