As the 2022 football season approaches us months away, their are some premier athletes that are looking to rise this year in the class of 2024! They are going to catch the attention of college coaches, and scouts during the season as well. These kids have the speed, size, and strength to become a difference maker on their team. Some of them may be undersized, but have proven themselves on the gridiron. Without further due, let’s dive in and take a look at 5 more junior prospects that have the potential to shine this year! Jelani Watkins- 5’9 158Ibs/WR/ Klein Forest High School Analysis: Talk about a speedster, Jelani Watkins is a player to keep your eye on for this upcoming season! Due to his track background, every time Watkins is in the open field, good luck catching this kid. He has break away speed like none other. He has good hands in the open field and also does a good job running his routes! The more he develops and trains, he will get stronger making him an even more lethal weapon! He also does a great job to adjusting to the ball and making great catches as well! Watkins also has great jump ball skills as well! He is a stud, look for him to ball out for this upcoming 2022 season! Darius Rodgers- 5’6 144Ibs/WR,Slot/ Klein Cain High School Analysis: Darius Rodgers is a true playmaker! This young man has tremendous elusiveness. He can make defenders miss on a dime and take off at any given moment! Rodgers does an excellent job at using his vision to smash and dash opponents on the gridiron! He has excellent speed as well! Rodgers has very soft hands as well and is a dangerous threat to opponents. Next, he is extremely explosive and if you do not wrap him up he will make you pay! Look out for him moving forward! Rodny Ojo- 6’1 165Ibs/WR/ Klein Collins High School Analysis: Rodny Ojo is a sleeper player to watch for. Ojo is an excellent route runner and is explosive in and out of his cuts and breaks. He has soft hands as well, which makes him a reliable possession receiver! He has a solid build at the wide receiver position. Ojo has the potential to become a premier target at Klein Collins High School. He also has very good speed and does a great job at using it to get open! Look for him to improve and show out in the future! [player_tooltip player_id="147470" first="Adam" last="Tran"]- 5’8 170Ibs/QB/ Jersey Village High School Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="147470" first="Adam" last="Tran"] is another player in Houston to look for in 2022! Last season, he threw for 2,062 yards and 10 touchdowns in 10 games. Just a sophomore, Tran has shown that he has the potential to become a star at the quarterback position. Also, he has really good vision when looking for the open receiver, and does his best to extend plays in the pocket. This young man has good pocket footwork as well which is vital for a quarterback.
