Version 1.0 of the 2025 rankings are out, and we now have a top 10! Every single one of these 10 players are trending toward Division 1 offers. In general, I expect the current top 10 to remain ranked very high as the years go on.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#1 [player_tooltip player_id="247690" first="Bryce" last="Underwood"]</span></strong>
I’d be surprised if anybody takes the #1 spot from Underwood during these next 3 seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="247690" first="Bryce" last="Underwood"] is far and wide the #1 2025 Prospect in Michigan and a solid top-20 in the nation. Stepping into a D1 program and winning a State Championship your Freshman Season is nothing short of incredible. Ahead of the curve in so many ways, Underwood has the size, IQ, and fundamentals to be one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#2 [player_tooltip player_id="247639" first="Jonathan" last="Edison Jr"]</span></strong>
The first of 3 Cass Tech players, Edison Jr seems to be constantly improving his craft, and I know he’s reaching for the stars. He’s one of if not the most active player on Twitter in the entire state. I don’t see any college attention for him right now, but he should get some if he performs well for Cass Tech. Overall, performance and college attention will dictate where Edison ranks from here on out. All signs point towards a bright future, and he’ll be able to prove himself soon. It will be fascinating to see if Edison lives up to the hype.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>#3 [player_tooltip player_id="329421" first="Derrick" last="Jackson III"]</strong></span>
Another Cass Tech prospect, [player_tooltip player_id="329421" first="Derrick" last="Jackson III"], has competed well on the field and in the classroom. If his Michigan visit is any indication, he’s reaching for the stars, and he’ll likely get there with straight-up hard work. It’s an inspiring time for young talent at Cass Tech.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#4 [player_tooltip player_id="284285" first="Cashus" last="Shivers"]</span></strong>
One of the most decorated freshmen on this list, Shivers has a ton of hype surrounding him and a few offers to go with it. With impressive offseason performances and a genuinely elite coaching staff, Shivers seems to be taking it all in, and he’s already got a lot to show for it. I expect Shivers to remain in the top 10 for quite some time.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>#5 [player_tooltip player_id="278012" first="DiMari" last="Malone"] </strong></span>
A tall, athletic linebacker from Dakota High School, [player_tooltip player_id="278012" first="DiMari" last="Malone"] has earned a few offers from an outstanding 2021 season and a great offseason. It’s awe-inspiring that he has a Bowling Green offer this early as a Linebacker, as we usually don’t see Linebackers get offered until later in the process.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#6 [player_tooltip player_id="247640" first="Jordin" last="Farrow"]</span></strong>
A big, tall defensive lineman with promise, [player_tooltip player_id="247640" first="Jordin" last="Farrow"] has all the necessary components of a future star. The size is there, the coaching staff is there, and the performance is there. From here on out, it’s all about constant, consistent improvement.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#7 [player_tooltip player_id="329551" first="Syncere" last="Hobson"]</span></strong>
By the time Syncere is a senior, he’ll be a well-known name, and Union will be a contender in the OK-Green. Syncere leads the charge in a lot of great talent moving through Union, and I’m excited to see what Syncere can do. When I visited Grand Rapids Union, Head Coach Don Fellows made a point of singling out Hobson as a rising star with loads of potential.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#8 [player_tooltip player_id="247693" first="Bryant" last="Weatherspoon"]</span></strong>
Weatherspoon is a big defensive lineman that will blow up any weak offensive line. He’s already garnered some attention, and he could be a top-10 prospect throughout the years. Harper Woods has excellent young talent, and it’s going to be fun seeing them in the OAA.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#9 [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"]</span></strong>
A linebacker for Harper Woods, [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"] already has some of the IQ and relentlessness needed to be a great linebacker. He’s a decent height at 5’11, and he should gain plenty of muscle going up from 185.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">#10 [player_tooltip player_id="247633" first="Brayden" last="Petre"]</span></strong>
A highly-touted athlete from Freeland, Petre had a sensational 2021 season and was vital in their playoff run. I expect Freeland to compete for a state championship this season, and the farther this team goes, the more well-deserved attention toward Petre.
