We check out some of the new additions in our 2023 Rankings, this time, with wide receivers!
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="261221" first="Clyde" last="Curry"]-</strong> |6’3 160| |Gadsden City| <a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/clydecurry04"><em>@ClydeCurry04 on Twitter</em></a></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="261221" first="Clyde" last="Curry"] provides a powerful spark to Gadsden City’s passing attack, and heading into his senior season he’s only going to become more of a problem for opposing DBs. Curry has a set of wheels on him- he recently recorded a blazing fast 10.64 100 meter dash at the 7A State Prelims, and that speed is constantly found out on the field as well. He can straight up fly downfield, and there’s no CB that can truly match his speed, which is a large reason why so many opposing secondaries keep a safety nearby to double him. In addition to his elite speed, Curry has the size and hands to truly be a dominant receiving option, and with this fall fast approaching, he’ll definitely be sharing that explosiveness on the field again. Currently, Curry lists offers from North Alabama, Murray State, Alcorn State, and more!
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">[player_tooltip player_id="290105" first="Harrison" last="Knight"]-</span></strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;"> |6’2 185| |Foley| <a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/_ManLike3_"><em>@_ManLike3_ on Twitter</em></a></span>
We have had our eyes on [player_tooltip player_id="290105" first="Harrison" last="Knight"] for a while now, he was a feature on one of our installments in our Film Submission series back in February. Since then, things have unsurprisingly ramped up big on the recruiting trail for the Foley WR. With his 6’2 185 frame, reliable hands, great speed, and route running, Knight has been a star at wideout- last fall he had a great season that ended up with him recording 42 receptions for 668 yards and 8 touchdowns. With that kind of production in his junior season, it’s not far-fetched to suggest that we could be seeing an even bigger season out of the Foley pass-catcher this fall. With all the attention he has garnered since the beginning of the year, Knight currently lists offers from Troy, Southern Miss, Middle Tennessee State, and more!
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">[player_tooltip player_id="257614" first="Takoda" last="McLeod"]-</span></strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;"> |6’1 170| |Carroll| <a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/TakodaMcLeod"><em>@TakodaMcLeod on Twitter</em></a></span>
As a talented dual-sport athlete (G in basketball), [player_tooltip player_id="257614" first="Takoda" last="McLeod"] presents a ton of athleticism in both sports but especially had a fantastic season last year at WR for Carroll. McLeod is a really shifty wideout with a strong set of hands. Often on tape you can find him generating a ton of separation with his fast release off the line of scrimmage, or by using his quick feet to shake defenders on some sharp routes. In the open field, that same footwork holds up, McLeod has a great deal of elusiveness that overall makes him a chore to stop- which can be seen easily with the 35 receptions for 658 yards and 10 touchdowns he put up as a junior. Currently, McLeod lists offers from Alabama A&M and Faulkner University, with more likely to head his way soon!
