2022 Roster Analysis: Mountain View High School

Considered on of the top programs in the state of Idaho, Mountain View is a well-run program, that is highly respected throughout the state. Known for their toughness on defense and a faced paced lightning quick offense, here is a breakdown of their top returning athletes for the 2022 season.   QB [player_tooltip player_id="336850" first="Dawson" last="Wahl"], 2023 Wahl is considered the top signal caller in the state. Tall, strong with great pocket awareness, Wahl consistently puts his team in a great position to be successful. Look for him to have a monster senior year.   OL [player_tooltip player_id="336871" first="Jameson" last="Perry"], 2023 Perry is an absolute monster in the trenches, one of the most effective finishers of blocks in the state. A long offensive lineman with a solid base and great pad level he consistently moves defenders off the ball.   WR [player_tooltip player_id="336941" first="Grayson" last="Flatten"], 2024 Flatten is lightning quick with the moves that could make most miss in a phone booth. Has natural pass catching hands and does a lot of his damage in the open field. One of the top sophomores on a district championship team should have a huge junior year.   OL [player_tooltip player_id="341638" first="Braden" last="Moore"], 2023 Moore is a grinder in the trenches who plays with a real nasty streak. He has a solid base with powerful hands and good footwork in the run game. He is primed for his senior season.   LB Mason Chiles, 2023 One of the fastest linebackers in the valley Chiles makes up for being undersized with great speed and agility to maneuver around blockers. Chiles is a tackling machine who consistently makes splash plays when his team needs them. Should lead the team and possibly the valley in tackling as a senior.   LB [player_tooltip player_id="340765" first="Ivan" last="Perkins"], 2023 Perkins is your true Mike linebacker, strong with a great base that can play tackle to tackle. Takes on blocker with a powerful lower half and good hand strike to shed. Split time at mike last year but as a senior it will be his show to run.   DB Owen McBride, 2024 One of the top sophomore pass defenders in the valley last year. McBride has a smooth backpedal and hip flexibility along with excellent pass catching skills.
