2022 Roster Analysis: Bishop Kelly High School

<em><b>Bishop Kelly is year in and year out in the running for the state title at the 4A level. 2022 should be no different as they have some key returners coming back on the defensive side of the ball and a strong and physical offensive line. Below, we will break down their roster and analyze some of the top players from the 2021 season that are returning. </b></em> <hr /> &nbsp; <em><strong>LB [player_tooltip player_id="336855" first="Luke" last="Legarreta"], 2023</strong></em> The 2023 prospect just picked up a big time offer from The College of Idaho and is one of the top linebackers across the state. He can play both inside and outside while very athletic and smooth in space. On film, he shows he is able to make plays outside the tackles and triggers well into the backfield while a excellent open field tackler. Going into 2022, there should be teams at the FCS level showing interest in the athletic linebacker and he’s poised for a huge Senior season. &nbsp; <em><strong>LB [player_tooltip player_id="336885" first="Jack" last="Dennis"], 2023</strong></em> Dennis is another core player on this 2022 roster and has a similar playing style to Legarreta. He is a downhill plug that is very active when rushing the passer and can apply pressure from all along the LOS with some bend. He shows the ability to shock and get off blocks while shedding quickly and playing fast and downhill. In the passing game, he can buzz out when needed and cover bigger receivers while showing quick reads in the run game and brings some nice physicality through contact. &nbsp; <em><strong>DB [player_tooltip player_id="340727" first="Cole" last="Miller"], 2023</strong></em> Miller just picked up his first offer from Idaho State and other FCS schools should also take a hard look at him in the back end. He is a very fluid and instinctual safety that shows good ball skills and high point ability with the speed to return. He is a smart player that understands zone coverage and plays with disciplines eyes often baiting quarterbacks into bad throws over the middle. He could find his home on the defensive side of the ball in college, and can make a positive impact at the next level. Going into the 2022 season, he will be a reliable and tough target as he shows strong hands in traffic and the ability to sink and find the holes underneath. &nbsp; <em><strong>OL [player_tooltip player_id="336949" first="Jackson" last="Brody"], 2024</strong></em> Brody is a strong built interior player that is a mauler when down blocking and athletic enough to pull up the hole and combo to the second level. He shows nice bend in his stance and has a quick first step while showing low pad level, inside punch and creates immediate knock-back upon contact.
