The Future Stars Game started as an event to provide a student-athlete with an elite event in a college environment. It has quickly become a must-see event, if you want to know who the next greats are. Here is a look at the 2026 Defensive Backs, selected to play on the 8th grade Georgia Future Stars team.
Briston Blasingame
The eighth grade MVP of the Warner Robins tryout, Blasingame is a versatile kid that can be plugged in a number of different positions for this Georgia Future Stars team. At 5-foot-8 and 132 pounds he was timed at 4.85 in the forty yard dash, the second fastest time at his tryout. Great ball skills and quickness make him a good choice at Corner or Safety.
Carsyn Baker Carsyn Baker 6'2" | 195 lbs | RB Langston Hughes | 2026 State GA
As mentioned above, Blasingame had the second fastest 40-yard dash at his tryout. The fastest? Well, that belonged to Baker with a 4.72. At 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds he’s a long athlete that looks like he can play everywhere from Linebacker to Wide Receiver to Strong Safety, and anywhere in between. Without knowing for sure, I’d expect to see Baker as Safety or Nickel with a heavy presence on third down.
Daimir Hicks
Hicks is absolutely chiseled for only being a class of 2026 prospect. At 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds, he has all the makings of a big time Corner Back as he gets set to play for Savannah Christian Preparatory School for the next four years. He has the quick twitch that you expect your Defensive Backs to have and also has advanced instincts in the secondary.
JaQuez Ivey JaQuez Ivey 6'1" | 155 lbs | WR Grovetown | 2026 State GA
Ivey looks like a can’t-miss prospect at this point, already standing 6-foot-1 and 155 muscular pounds. Although he’s very capable of playing Wide Receiver on the offensive side of the ball, he looks a future P5 Safety in my opinion. He runs well for the level and was clocked at a 4.90 in the forty yard dash. Physically he just looks different than many of the other prospects at this age. He looks like a grown man when moving out on the field. He covers a lot of ground and can bring some physicality.
Jaris Sinkfield
The talent of the Defensive Back group is plentiful for the Georgia Future Stars and Sinkfield is further proof of that. He’s as natural a Corner Back as you’re going to find on the middle school level. Sinkfield brought home the MVP of the Augusta tryout and measured in at 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds. Coaches marveled at how fluid his hips were at the tryouts and were excited about his ability to change direction at full speed, without slowing down. Does a great job of mirroring Wide Receivers down field.
Jeremiah Roux
Roux is another very talented big Defensive Back that Georgia will have in its arsenal. Roux measured in at 6-foot-1 and 181 pounds at the Gwinnett tryout and could have easily made this team at Linebacker if called upon. Above we talked about the speed of Baker, and the size of Ivey, Roux is a combination of the two with a little more meat on his bones. He should be a difference maker in run support.
Jonaz Walton
We’ve covered Walton a few times this off-season and he’s worth every writeup we do. Walton has a high school ready body right now. His weight room numbers are impressive: 410-pound squat, 190-pound bench and 275-pound power clean. Football MVP this past season and also a two-time Track state champ. Walton was clocked at a 4.68 in the forty yard dash, which was the third fastest time of any eighth graders that tried out this year.
Kamden Jennings Kamden Jennings 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Denmark | 2026 GA
At 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds, Jennings plays significantly bigger than size due to his long arms and legs. He covers a lot of ground and has the ability to blanket Wide Receivers if left out on an island. Was clocked at a 4.9 in the 40-yard dash and showed a lot of consistency at the East Atlanta tryout. Fundamentally sound kid who has shown some elite recovery skills when playing in trail technique.
Rahsaan Isaac Rahsaan Isaac 5'10" | 150 lbs | DB Buford | 2026 GA
The future Buford Wolf has been everywhere this off-season and has been a top performer everywhere he’s gone. Great size Corner Back at 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds, who was a 4.91 in the 40-yard dash at the Gwinnett tryout. While he certainly has technique and agility, Isaac brings a physical style to the Corner position. He can flip his hips and run with Wide Receivers, but he’s also more than capable to jam them out to the boundary.
Timere Brown
Brown is a thick, muscular Defensive Back at 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds. He’s built more like an athletic Middle Linebacker at this point, but coaches raved about his coverage ability at the Savannah tryout. He can scoot for a heavier Corner Back right now, running a 4.85 40-yard dash at the tryout–finishing tied for the fastest time. It will be interested to see how they use Brown in their scheme, because he’s capable of doing a lot.
Xavier Butler
Rounding out the Defensive Back group for the eighth grade Georgia Future Stars team is Xavier Butler. Butler, one of the smaller athletes chosen for the team (at any position) measured in at 5-foot-5 and 139 pounds. Moves well and was clocked at 4.94 in the 40-yard dash. Butler is a natural Corner Back and adds needed speed and depth to the position. I can see him being a difference maker as a Gunner on Special Teams with this speed and willingness to give up his body to make a play.
