Year in and year out central Ohio is stacked with talented prospects that can play at the next level that go unnoticed. In this article, we will be focused on the athletes in the class of 2024 that had a good sophomore campaign that should be on your radar, and attending summer college camps will boost their stock.
Rex Lahr Rex Lahr 6'3" | 250 lbs | OL Pickerington North | 2024 State OH | 6’3″ 250 | OL | Pickerington North
Rex is hard nose and plays with an edge & intensity that you simply can’t teach you either have it or you don’t. He is a two-year starter who currently plays tackle but at the next level, he will most likely be a guard or center. Watching his highlights and seeing him dominate whoever lines up across from him no matter that size reminds me of former buckeye and Pickerington central grad Jacoby Boren. The type of player you want to run behind because you just know he’s gonna get the job done! This offseason Rex has bulked up and has added 30 pounds to his frame excited to see his junior campaign and the name he makes for himself.
Nathan Severs | 5’11″ 205 | RB | Big Walnut
Nathan is a well put together strong running back that runs behinds his pads. In his tape he showed he has good patience allow his block to develop and the ability to break the long ones and get involved in the pass game by catching wheels, swing passes, and screen. For Nathan i think it is important that he gets in front of colleges coaches to be able to show his agility, shiftiness, and natural competitiveness against different competition. Central District Division II Offensive player of the year and 1st team All State.
Cameron Jewell | 6’1″ 190 | RB/CB | Alder High School
Cameron is two way player that is a mix of agility & speed and will run behind his pads to get the tough yardage. On his film you see him split and running by defenders that have the angle on him, and he has a really good burst of speed when he decided to put his foot in the floor and get vertical. He attends a smaller school in central Ohio so he needs to get out and get to camps this summer to show coaches he is a player that should be recruiting.
Preston Wolfe | 6’2″ 165 | WR | Hillard Bradley
Preston is a well put together receiver that show flashes of being able to high point the ball, and win against one on one coverage. His tape show that he has a good catch radius being able to adjust his body to ball that are under thrown and outside his frame. Preston does that little thing right like sit in the whole in zone, works back to QB when they escape the pockets, and blocks on the edge. Good ball player that will only get better!
Dane Wleklinski | 6’5″ 230 | OL | Dublin Jerome
Dane is a lengthy lineman that has good athletic ability that can finish blocks. He gets to the second levels and attaches on to linebackers. Hopefully this offseason he has added some weight to his frame which will help he dominant more in the run game. Overall i think he has a high ceiling and body is still growing.
