Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="283546" first="Eli" last="Adams"] had a very good season last year as sophomore! He had a total of 41 receptions, 826 yards and 11 touchdowns with an astounding 20 yards per catch. Adams also acquired 4 touchdowns over 40 yards. He averaged 17.2 yards per punt return and racking up a total of 212 return yards for kick return and punt return. With his speed, hands, and playmaking ability, Adams makes up of a very dangerous weapon! He has excellent route running ability and his quarterback can rely on him in times of trouble. Without [player_tooltip player_id="283546" first="Eli" last="Adams"] on the field, the Canyon football team can become stagnant if they do not have anybody to do what he does!
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="60864" first="Colton" last="Thomasson"]- 6’8 325Ibs/OL,DL/ Smithson Valley High School</strong>
Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="60864" first="Colton" last="Thomasson"], a Texas A&M commit, was a first team All- District selection. Thomasson is a dominant force in the trenches playing like a monster! With this stud on the offensive line, he opens up the offense alone! He is extremely physical at the point of attack and possesses great blocking technique. He is extremely strong and powerful and drives defensive linemen into the ground with ease! [player_tooltip player_id="60864" first="Colton" last="Thomasson"] is the reason why big plays opens up for the Smithson Valley football team and deserves to be recognized as such.
<strong>Phillip Gallegos- 6’7 300Ibs/OL/ Somerset High School</strong>
Analysis: Gallegos is a big reason why his offense is successful! He was 1st team All- District and 2nd Team All-Area. When he is on the field, you can count on him to make a difference in a game with his consistent play. With his tremendous size, he uses it to his advantage against defensive linemen, creating holes for running backs and a safe pocket for quarterbacks in the pocket. He is very physical as well and is not afraid to get down and dirty to help his team win!
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="121097" first="Darion" last="Brown"]- 5’10 155Ibs/ DB/ Davenport High School</strong>
Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="121097" first="Darion" last="Brown"] is a sleeper on this list that is not to be taken lightly of. On defense he prevents the big plays from opponents from affecting the team! With his great use of hands and hip work, he is able to put himself in positions for key interceptions or forced fumbles which are huge game changers in a football game! He is a good tackler in the open field. His gameplay allows for others on his team to feast on defense as well! Even though he is not high on the radar, best believe this young man makes an impact for his team’s defensive unit!
<strong>Qwincy Amos- 5’11 170Ibs/ATH,DB/ Earl Warren High School</strong>
Analysis: Quincy Amos was a two time 29-6A 1st Team All-District selection. He racked up a total of 33 tackles, 1 interception,14 pass breakups, 1 fumble recovery, 23 catches, 332 yards, and 1 touchdown. Quincy Amos has shown the ability to break up difficult passes which stops the momentum of opposing teams. On the defensive side of the ball, he helps his team tremendously with his skill set and what he brings to the table. His great use of hands, footwork, and technique, makes it very difficult for quarterbacks to throw on him. Wide receivers have a hard time shaking him as well which is what you need at the corner back position! He is also a dangerous returner on special teams which is one of the most important phases in a football game. Mr. Amos has earned himself a name and is an impact player for his team!
