This group is another group that has a strong mix of multiple recruiting classes showing that the WR talent is going to be strong, and deep for the foreseeable future. This group also has talent for nearly every level of college football. Check out the film of these athletes, and make sure to follow their 2022 seasons, and careers!
1. Langdon Nordgaard Langdon Nordgaard 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR West De Pere | 2024 State WI , ’24- West De Pere
The 6’4″ 195 lbs big man takes the #1 spot in northern WI thanks to his intriguing traits and upside. Langdon excels in the redzone and in jump ball scenarios where he can use his size to overpower and out jump defenders. To go with that ability to overpower at the catch point, Langdon also has the strength to break tackles after the catch. He has proven it can take a crowd to bring him down. Lastly, his hands jump off the tape. He always catches the ball with his hands away from the body. You will see that sometimes it doesn’t even take both hands if you check out the tape. Nordgaard finished 2021 with 35 receptions, 607 yards, and 5 TDs.
2. Nolan Hall Nolan Hall 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Kaukauna | 2024 State WI , ’24- Kaukauna
The 6’4″ 190 lbs sophomore spent time on the JV and varsity teams this fall. On the varsity field, we got a look at the potential of the up and coming athlete. He finished his varsity action with 10 receptions, 178 yards, and 1 TD. That 17 yard average perfectly illustrates his ability to stretch the field. He has the big frame to win jump ball scenarios, and he has enough speed to be a problem after the catch if the proper angle isn’t taken to pursue him. We are looking at a big time potential breakout for the WR/TE after the graduation of multiple playmakers. I’ll be keeping an eye on him.
3. Owen Hager Owen Hager 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Appleton North | 2023 State WI , ’23- Appleton North
Northern WI is home to several big bodied WRs. That continues with our next target. Owen checks in at 6’4″ 195 lbs, and is our #1 junior WR in northern WI. He finished his junior season with 7 receptions for 105 yards. That is just the beginning of what Appleton North will need form him to have a successful season. This is another potential breakout candidate as he steps into a huge void in 2022. The big man is a possession style receiver. The type of player who wins with clean routes, his big frame, and the ability to find the soft spots in coverage. He also generates his yards after the catch with power over speed. Appleton North has a lot of turnover on offense this season. Look for Owen to step up.
4. Seth Valeri, ’25- Hortonville
I have talked a lo t about potential and breakouts in this article. The most potential lies with freshman Seth Valeri. That potential gives our Class of 2025 WR1 the #4 spot in our northern WI WR Top 5. The 6’ 162 lbs WR didn’t play on varsity this past fall, but his JV film shows an exciting player who looks ready to make the jump to varsity after a strong offseason. His start- stop ability and acceleration allowed him to shake defenders and create separation with ease at the JV level. Seth’ top end speed also stood out from the crowd on tape. Lastly, Valeri has a strong base of route running. He easily created separation for his QB with his acceleration and ability to play at top speed throughout his routes. I’m excited to see him under the lights.
5. Riley Anderson Riley Anderson 5'11" | 190 lbs | WR Hudson | 2023 State WI , ’23- Hudson
We wrap up our Top 5 with the junior from Hudson. The 5’11″ 180 lbs WR finished 2021 with 10 receptions, and 132 yards. Both of which are the most of any returning receiver for Hudson’s 2022 team making Riley another breakout candidate. Riley has field stretching speed, agility and elusiveness to be a problem after the catch, and on top of it all he is a solid punt returner thanks to his vision to find lanes and blocks. His one step explosiveness makes him a menace in tight quarters where he can make defenders miss with one juke or cut. I’m interested in seeing how the WR is used. The paste few years Hudson has loved to get their best WRs involved in the ground game. Anderson could be next up thanks to that short area agility/elusiveness.
