Inglewood class of 2023 tight end [player_tooltip player_id="261865" first="Jamari" last="Johnson"] announced his commitment to Louisville on Tuesday.
Johnson is massive at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds. I saw him at the TurfWars 7on7 tournament in January where he physically dominated defensive backs and he drew a lot of attention from the scouts at the Under Armour Next All-American camp.
He used to be a quarterback and his hands are remarkable for someone who hasn’t been a pass catcher for very long. He has the raw tools and a year of experience will benefit him greatly.
Johnson chose Louisville over 11 other schools that offered him including Arizona, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State and Washington among others. He is the third player from Southern California in Louisville’s 2023 recruiting class, joining St. John Bosco’s [player_tooltip player_id="25410" first="Jahlil" last="McClain"] and [player_tooltip player_id="25367" first="Pierce" last="Clarkson"].

Inglewood class of 2023 defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="190353" first="Justin" last="Johnson"] announced his commitment to Arizona on Tuesday.
Johnson is long at 6-foot-2 and covers a lot of the field. He has good timing when he goes for the deflection or interception and has good instincts.
He told Greg Biggins of 247Sports that a factor in his decision was Arizona’s strong 2022 recruiting class. He visited the campus last weekend and said he was ready to commit before the visit.
Johnson also had offers from Colorado State, Florida State, Grambling State and Michigan State.

Mission Viejo receiver [player_tooltip player_id="190360" first="Jackson" last="Holman"] picked up offers from Dartmouth and Idaho this past week.
Holman caught 46 passes for 699 yards with eight touchdowns as a junior for the Diablos last season, both were second most on the team.
He is lengthy at 6-foot-4 and has a large catch radius. I first saw him at the Battle at the Beach passing tournament last summer and he was making difficult catches throughout the day.
Holman is an academic guy as well with a 4.2 GPA and runs the 4x100m relay on the track team. He also has offers from Cornell, Princeton and Penn among others.

Long Beach Poly running back [player_tooltip player_id="261774" first="Devin" last="Samples"] picked up two offers from Warner University and Morgan State this past week.
Samples had a monster junior season with 1,519 yards on 229 carries with 20 touchdowns for a Long Beach Poly team that won the Division 4 championship.
He’s not a big guy at 5-foot-7 and around 185 pounds, but he is a downhill runner who hits the hole quickly and excels at off-tackle runs.
