I’ve always been very impressed by the TE class of 2024. Even though we have the three obvious standouts with [player_tooltip player_id="248962" first="Brady" last="Prieskorn"], [player_tooltip player_id="188007" first="Dylan" last="Mesman"], and [player_tooltip player_id="248961" first="Brody" last="Kosin"], we also have [player_tooltip player_id="251246" first="Alex" last="Gillum"], [player_tooltip player_id="251340" first="Jake" last="Jacoby"], [player_tooltip player_id="86345" first="Easton" last="Boggs"], and [player_tooltip player_id="251419" first="Drew" last="Kelbert"], who are great talents. In today’s article, I’ll be going over those four guys and discussing what they’ve been up to this offseason.
[player_tooltip player_id="251246" first="Alex" last="Gillum"] - Flat Rock
A towering presence at 6’5", Gillum shines on the football field, but his main sport is basketball. Gillum is an insanely good Power Forward has he received all-region honors this season. Gillum led Flat Rock to a 17-5 record this Basketball season, at one point winning 11 games straight. With Gillum being a great multi-sport athlete, I can’t wait to see what he can do this football season.
[player_tooltip player_id="251340" first="Jake" last="Jacoby"] - Marshall
A very high upside player that could shoot up the rankings with a great season, [player_tooltip player_id="251340" first="Jake" last="Jacoby"] is one of two primeir threats at Marshall. He totaled over 600 yards last season sporting great catch in traffic and good route running. Like I said, Jacoby could jump in the rankings come December. Two big aspects of this will be to add on weight, which will naturally help his physicality in the receiving and blocking game, and I hope he’s had a productive offseason.
[player_tooltip player_id="86345" first="Easton" last="Boggs"] - Lenawee Christian
Even though he can put on some weight, Boggs is a physical TE that often overpowers his opponents. Like Gillum, Boggs is a Power Forward at Lenawee Christian and has a high motor. I wasn’t able to find too much else on Boggs, but my hope is that he’s in full-scale prep mode for the football season.
[player_tooltip player_id="251419" first="Drew" last="Kelbert"] - Livonia Franklin
I’m very impressed with Kelbert after re-visiitng his film and social media. Starting with the film, he’s a well-balanced TE who mostly lines up on the line of scrimmage and has a good amount of blocking highlights along with the expected receiving highlights. Although the receiving highlights are a tad more sparce than those above, Kelbert competed on Legacy 7on7 team Gray where he had some nice highlights. From my point of view, it seems like Kelbert is having a productive offseason that should ideally result in a great 2022 football season where he takes his game to a new level.
