PRZ Next Midwest Showcase: Offensive Line Preview
Prep Redzone Next is holding the second, of three, one-day showcases this upcoming Sunday, April 24th, at Commisioners Park in Naperville, Illinois. The camp is designed for middle school athletes to compete in combine testing, individual position work and competitive one on work. Over 100 athletes are slated to come and compete.
Here’s a preview of some of the Offensive Linemen who have registered.
The state of Michigan will be well-represented at the showcase, and there won’t be any bigger prospect than 6-foot-5, 300-pound 2026 prospect Ben Nichols Ben Nichols 6'6" | 325 lbs | OL Davison | 2026 State MI . Nichols has been featured several times on Prep Redzone Next already this season and for good reason. He is one of the most consistent and violent linemen not only in the Midwest, but in the entire country. If I had to pick an early favorite for the Offensive Line MVP it would be the big guy from Davison, Michigan.
Another 2026 prospect with significant size will be QwaMaine Spivey Jr. He is signed up at 6-foot and 315 pounds. The Chicago-native is a wide, powerful body who overpowered a lot of kids his sheer mass this past season. He played much of the season as a guard and helped paved the way for a very strong running game.
Speaking of strong, Brett Dopona, a powerlifter from Texas, is making the trip North to the showcase. Dopona is listed at 6-foot and 220 pounds, and is pound for pound one of the strongest 2026 kids I’ve seen in the country. In fact, he recently finished seconds in the NASA Powerlifting HS Nationals in the Fresh/Sophomore Unequipped division, as an eighth grader. His older brother, Emmerick, was the District MVP this past season and will be playing ball at North Texas next year.
Class of 2026 prospect Tim Harkins is also one I’m interested in checking in person. Have seen and heard some good things about the athletic lineman. At 6-foot and 210 pounds, he has average size, but he moves pretty well. He’ll be at Carmel next season, but will get a good look at some tough competition at the showcase.
A 2027 prospect many will be excited to see, will be Vincent Lazarre of Michigan. The 6-foot-1, 234-pounder was a force on both sides of the ball this past season for the Southfield Falcons. One of the rare 2027 prospects that gets by on ability in addition to size. Will be good to see him compete against some of the 2026 prospects.
