Prep RedZone Arkansas 2023 April Newcomers

The rankings update that we put together at Prep RedZone Arkansas always sees a nice increase in the number of athletes on the list. We have plenty of new talent to examine over the next few weeks for the class of 2023. In this article, we are going to look at some of the prospects that caught our attention in the April update. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="274955" first="Ra’Shawn" last="Bell"]-Defensive Back-Prescott</strong> Never underestimate the number of talented prospects we see come out of Prescott. Versatility is an excellent term that can be attributed to Bell. The young man is very versatile. He can play the safety and wide receiver positions with equal effectiveness. Bell uses his experience playing the wide receiver position to his advantage when he plays safety. He is not afraid to make a hit and he has soft enough hands to pick off passes. Bell is a prospect that I expect to continue to perform well this upcoming season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134859" first="Cory" last="Henderson Jr"].-Wide Receiver-North Little Rock</strong> The North Little wide runs extremely crisp routes. Opposing defensive backs tend to play off of him because of his impressive speed. Henderson Jr. has shown that he is not afraid to run slant routes over the middle of the field and he looks to deliver a hit more than take one. The impressive mix of route running, and speed have set the stage for him to have a strong 2022 football season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="301367" first="Jarvis" last="Reed"]-Wide Receiver-Camden Fairview</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="301367" first="Jarvis" last="Reed"] is one wide receiver that is extremely difficult to bring down. He does a great job of generating explosive plays and using his good speed to create separation. One of the traits that I appreciate the most when watching Reed is just how unselfish a blocker he is. The Camden Fairview coaching staff does an excellent job of putting Reed all over the field and using his speed to stretch the field. Reed is a prospect that I expect to continue to shoot up the prospect rankings. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="249965" first="Landon" last="Koch"]-Wide Receiver-Harding Academy</strong> The Harding Academy wide receiver is a problem that opposing defenses have not been able to solve as of yet. Koch is a sharp route runner that is always working his way open for his quarterback. He separates from opposing defensive backs well using his impressive speed. Koch is a wide receiver that I expect o have a big season for Harding Academy. Possibly, the main facet of his game that does not get enough credit is just how good his hands are. Keep an eye on Koch this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="277344" first="Malachi" last="Gober"]-Quarterback-North Little Rock </strong> Gober is a talented quarterback that operates the North Little Rock offense extremely well. He does a great job of connecting with his wide receivers in stride. Gober moves around in the pocket in impressive fashion, and he knows when to escape the pocket. Gober has a good clock in his head and is looking to make the throw before using his legs to pick up yardage. He is a new prospect on the 2023 rankings list that I expect to shoot up the rankings. Gober is a quarterback that can open some eyes this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="283558" first="Jamarion" last="Carr"]-Running Back-Conway</strong> I had the opportunity to watch Carr a few times in the playoffs last season and he is a bruising runner. He is a patient runner that allows the rushing lane to develop before he takes off and runs. For opposing defenses, Carr is a difficult running back to bring down. The opposing defense has to send multiple defenders to bring him down. Carr has the potential to have a strong season in 2022. Carr is a running back that will shoot up the rankings this season and has the potential to see time on Saturday’s in the future.
