The Class of 2024 is DEEP. Seriously, the Class of 2024 is the first class that I’ve dove DEEP into, and I’m super excited about every single athlete’s progression. With that, there are many Watch List players who I’m excited to see take the next step at the Varsity level. The following four athletes are already great at what they do, but they either started on the JV level or haven’t produced on varsity yet. With that being said, here are four more Watch List players to watch in the Class of 2024!

I’ve mentioned Sparpana in the past, but I genuinely think he’ll make significant contributions this fall. He made a few great plays during the 7-on-7 season, and I hope this translates into the season. I hadn’t seen much of Sparpana in pass coverage, but some of his new tape makes me optimistic. Overall, the OK-Blue should be interesting with UC losing a ton of talent, West Catholic with a new coach though retaining lots of talent, and teams such as Coopersville making strides over the past few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id="249548" first="Seamus" last="Dye"] - SB/ATH - Traverse City Central
I mentioned it in yesterday’s article, but with [player_tooltip player_id="249545" first="Brayden" last="McCoon"] at QB, I expect the Traverse City Central offense to change significantly. Along with that, [player_tooltip player_id="249548" first="Seamus" last="Dye"] should play a vital role in the offense. It seems like Dye had a solid season at the JV level, being a textbook Slotback. I sure hope that he’s been able to put on some weight in that amazing weight room TC Central has and that Dye can serve as a foundational piece in the new offense.
[player_tooltip player_id="253257" first="Gage" last="Chatfield"] - DL - Jenison
The thing that stands out most about Chatfield is his size at 6’3" 220. Chatfield is coming off a great basketball season, and I hope his skills translate into football. The one thing he’s got going for him is hard-hitting, though his overall fundamentals, especially hands, need some work. Chatfield is very tall and exceptionally strong, and he could be a crucial part of Jenison’s bounceback season.
[player_tooltip player_id="248790" first="Colin" last="Snead"] - WR - Dakota
Snead could have started on most Varsity programs. His most significant strength is his hands, as he can go up and get some balls as he’s a solid 6’2". I also appreciate highlights of his blocking ability. He’s already a good blocker, but he can become above average-elite all around with some work. Snead has many strengths and aspects he’s sure above average in, but the one area I’d like to see him improve in is his release. Off the line, I can pretty quickly tell if he’s going to block or going out for a pass, and if he showed 100% effort on every play, it would impact how the opposing defensive back would react. Snead plays in the elite MAC Red, and I’m excited to see him possibly do some damage.
