While living, scouting, and training all over Texas, I’ve had the privilege of being able to see a bevy of talented athletes from all over the state up close.

To be slept on means that you possess a high level of talent and potential that hasn’t been recognized or highly publicized for whatever reason. There are many talented athletes all over the state that could have fit in this category but the ones listed below are a few quick names to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id="276112" first="Jacob" last="Pequeno"] - Parish Episcopal - Class of 2024

Jacob is a stout interior offensive line prospect out of Parish Episcopal that played right tackle this fall but has spent this summer learning the center position.

Jacob has impressive body control, good fundamentals, and plays with his insteps in the ground. He had a great showing at the last LT2FBA training we seen him at and he did a great job. At the PrepRedzone stock up camp he impressed the staff with his usage of the off hand with the snap and trigger technique at center. Along with doing a great job fighting for the refit when he was at guard.

DJ Bailey - Desoto High School - Class of 2024

DJ is a rising 2024 dual treat quarterback prospect out of Desoto Texas.

He is an exciting player that has a live arm, active legs and does a great job extend plays outside of the pocket. He is a twitchy athlete that has good patience, poise, and has shown the ability to deliver dots while on the move. He has a massive offensive line returning this fall that features talented linemen like Ronnell Snacks McLain Jr , and [player_tooltip player_id="286997" first="Byron" last="Washington"] to name a few. With the intangibles and accuracy that he has the sky is the limit and I look forward to seeing where he leads the Desoto this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="276129" first="Will" last="Marshall"] - Flower mound High school- Class of 2023

Will is a long 6’6 280-pound tackle with a 3.72 GPA out of Flower mound Texas. He has a long frame, good punch, nice kick slide, and good patience in his pass sets. He did a great job at the Prep Redzone showcase and gave defenders fits all afternoon. To me, he is a pure tackle but he has shown the range/ability to play guard as well. He has flown under the radar but will have more recognition and offers coming his way once schools get a chance to see him compete in person during spring ball.

Caleb Hackleman- Pleasant Grove High school - Class of 2024

Caleb is a 6’5 270-pound offensive lineman out of Pleasant Grove Texas that is one of the most versatile athletes on this list. He plays offensive tackle but still looks just as lean as a tight end at 270 pounds. He has an early offer from Texas Tech University but I expect his options to expand soon. He is one of the only tackles that I’ve seen play all five positions through the summer and be functional. He has a great awareness and football IQ along with a ton of room to fill out his frame.
