In this article, we’ll take a look at five prospects that could see their stocks rise during the 2022 season. Included, a 5’10" CB who had 15 pass breakups last season, a big school athlete whose stock is starting to rise, and an offensive lineman who just moved to the Lone Star State.
ATH Xavier Banks — 6’3" 180 / Wichita Falls Rider HS — @XavierBanks08
Banks plays WR and OLB for the Raiders, and is quite the impressive athlete. He flashes good explosive ability on the outside as a pass catcher, and definitely has a knack for the big play. His smooth release enables him to beat cornerbacks when they’re in man coverage, and his above-average body control allows him to go up and make contested catches. Since he has the speed, I could see a move to defensive back in his post-high school future.

G Jabarie Hicks — 6’3″ 295 / Dallas Hillcrest HS — @Jabarie_Hicks
Hicks recently moved to Dallas from the state of Michigan, where he was the starting right tackle as a junior. He displays a good initial punch in the run game, solid footwork in pass protection, and overall, is the type of aggressive presence you want at the position. I see him as a guard at the college level, and certainly think he has the tools to become a quality starter for a small college program.

C Dannie Joseph — 6’1″ 260 / Spring Westfield HS — @DannieJoseph12
The Mustangs of Class 6A Spring Westfield churn out great football talent year after year, and their starting center is one of those players. A bit undersized, Joseph is a workhorse who should get more attention as his senior season moves along. He has good range and is able to work his way to the second level with ease. He’s a surefire future starter at the small school level.

WR Anthony Cathcart — 5’10" 175 / Spring Westfield HS — @AnthonyCathca10
Junior Stats: 428 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns / 14 yards per reception
Cathcart is a spark in the passing game for the Mustangs. A primary target for class of ’22 Tulsa signee [player_tooltip player_id="60727" first="Cardell" last="Williams"], he’s as dangerous when he’s running routes as he is when his number is called on a jet sweep. He’s got decent 4.49 speed, and that is on full display when in the open field. Despite his small stature, is a very willing and capable blocker on the perimeter. Small schools should definitely take a long, hard look at him this fall.

CB Von Dawson — 5’10" 160 / Brook Hill HS — @VonDawson7
Junior Stats: 15 PBU and 8 INT
One of the top defensive backs in the state’s private school ranks, Dawson will look to build on a stellar junior season that saw him break up fifteen passes, intercept eight, and be named first team all-district. He shows great anticipation and breaks on the ball extremely well, and delivers a lot of pop for a guy who weighs just 160 pounds. Very intriguing option in the secondary for a small college looking for a difference-maker in 2023.
