Ed’s Offensive Standouts – NP Camp Series

There was an abundance of talent on hand at the NP Camp Series Showcase at A.L. Brown HS on April 24th.  The temps were mild, and it was an ideal day to host an event.  There were approximately 200 players that participated in the showcase.  The players listed caught my attention and their performances were amongst the tops in their offensive position groups.  Jeff Mullins’ showcases are always organized and well-run.  I enjoy covering NP Showcases. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="324915" first="Nick" last="Lemon"], WR, 5’10" 175, Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>.  Nick is talented player with blazing speed and quickness.  His speed was on display when he ran a 4.37, 40-yard run.  He runs good pass routes and separation from defenders to make the catch.  Nick is expected to utilize his speed in the open field for big yardage during the upcoming season.  He displayed good agility and quickness as he participated in the drills during the testing phase of the event.  [player_tooltip player_id="324915" first="Nick" last="Lemon"] is expected to be one of the primary targets for his quarterback during the upcoming season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="324919" first="Nix" last="Conner"], OL, 6’4" 220, Northwest Guilford HS</strong>.  He displayed exceptional quickness and agility for an offensive lineman while participating in the drills.  He has the physical build to add weight and not affect his quickness.  Nix displayed good footwork and mobility throughout the drills.  [player_tooltip player_id="324919" first="Nix" last="Conner"] has all of the tools to develop into a Power5 prospect.  I am looking forward to tracking his performances during the upcoming season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="290619" first="Micah" last="Sumpter"], OL, 6’2" 270, Knightdale HS</strong>.  He displayed good agility and mobility for a big offensive lineman.  He displayed good footwork and quickness while participating in the drills during the testing phase of the event.  Micah is expected to continue to fine tune his skillset in preparation for the upcoming season.  [player_tooltip player_id="290619" first="Micah" last="Sumpter"] is expected to anchor the offensive line for a high-scoring offensive unit in the Fall. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="271552" first="Johnathan" last="Montague Jr"], QB, 6’0" 190, Knightdale HS</strong>.  He displayed an improved accuracy and arm strength in the two showcases that he participated in over the weekend.  Johnathan has been training hard during the off-season and the results shown in the showcases.  He is an accurate passer with good arm strength who can run to make him a dual-threat quarterback.  Johnathan ran a 4.69, 40-yard run which will enable him to gain big yardage when he tucks it and run.  I am looking to watching him in action during the upcoming season. [player_tooltip player_id="324916" first="Griffin" last="Reimer"], TE, 6’2" 205, Weddington HS.  He displayed good footwork and agility while participating in the drills during the testing phase of the event.  He uses his body to shield defenders to make the catch.  Griffin displayed decent hands on the catches made in traffic. He is expected to improve on his catches made as he prepares for the upcoming season.  [player_tooltip player_id="324916" first="Griffin" last="Reimer"] will be one of the primary targets for a high-scoring offensive unit in the Fall.
