Recently, we updated the 2025 Prep RedZone Arkansas rankings and now is a good time to look at some of the position groupings. Starting off with the linebacker spot. The 2025 class in the state of Arkansas has plenty of talented individuals coming up through the ranks. We are going to look at prospects to keep an eye on over the next couple of seasons.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="174599" first="Malachi" last="Solee"]-Maumelle-5’7” 190-Pounds </strong>
The Maumelle linebacker is a prospect that plays the run extremely well. He is able to get into the offensive backfield with impressive speed. Solee does a great job of wrapping up the ball carrier. He does a good job of defending against the pass and is someone that will only improve the more action he sees. Solee is a prospect that is only going to get better at the linebacker position. He is a player to watch out for on Friday nights over the next couple of years.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="221289" first="Carter" last="Henley"]-Shiloh Christian-6’0” 190-Pounds</strong>
Henley gets into the offensive backfield extremely quick. He is impressive with how he can disrupt the opposing rushing attack. Henley is able to defeat blocks quickly and pressure the quarterback and make life tough on the opposing passing attack. He is always around the ball carrier and in on every tackle. Shiloh Christian has another linebacker coming up through the ranks with the potential to play on Saturday in the form of Henley.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="239275" first="Jayshun" last="Hunter"]-Monticello-6’3” 230-Pounds</strong>
The Monticello linebacker is an extremely versatile player. He can play the linebacker, defensive end, and tight end positions with equal effectiveness. Looking at Hunter from the linebacker position, he defeats block easily and has no trouble bringing down the ball carrier. Hunter has the speed and power to cause the opposing rushing attack plenty of problems. He has the hands and size to cause plenty of difficulty for the opposing passing game. Hunter will be a linebacker to keep an eye on over the next few years.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="293970" first="Stanley" last="Turner"]-North Little Rock-5’9” 170-Pounds</strong>
Turner has displayed good speed from both the running back and linebacker positions. He has the hands to pick off passes and take the other direction. On both sides of the ball, he does not mind contact and will deliver a hit when needed. Turner fills the rushing lanes well and has no problems bringing the ball carrier down. Turner is a prospect that has the potential to become a fixture on Friday nights.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="240080" first="Kayden" last="Sherman"]-Maumelle-6’0” 220-Pounds</strong>
At the linebacker position, Sherman is incredibly quick when it comes to attacking the line of scrimmage. Sherman does an impressive job of reading the play and getting to the ball carrier. He is able to use his speed to defeat blocks and get into the offensive backfield. Sherman is a prospect that can drop back into pass coverage. He has the potential to be a linebacker to pay attention on to Friday nights.
