I have always been a fan of seeing the ball in the air and looking at the wide receivers give a glimpse of where the explosive plays come from. In this article, we are going to take a look at some extremely talented wide receivers. The wide receiver position is one of the deepest in the state of Arkansas.
DeAndra Burns DeAndra Burns 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2023 State AR Jr-El Dorado-5’11” 150-Pounds
DeAndra Burns DeAndra Burns 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2023 State AR Jr. has terrific speed, and he uses it on the football field just as well as he does the track. Defensive backs struggle with just how quick he is. He does an excellent job of creating separation from opposing defenders using his speed. The El Dorado wide receiver had an impressive 2021 season and is looking to continue the momentum this season. With a scholarship offer from the University of Arkansas to his credit already, I expect to earn several more scholarship offers this season.
Jaylin McKinney Jaylin McKinney 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR -Pulaski Academy-6’0” 165-Pounds
The Pulaski Academy wide receiver had an extremely impressive 2021 season. McKinney was on the receiving end of 74 passes for 1,379 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2021. From a route running perspective, McKinney runs very smooth routes. He is an impressive prospect when it comes to creating separation from opposing defensive backs. McKinney is a wide receiver that will be playing on Saturdays in the future, he has already received a scholarship offer from Southern Arkansas.
Isiah Kendall Isiah Kendall 6'5" | 180 lbs | WR Newport | 2023 State AR -Newport-6’5” 180-Pounds
Isiah Kendall Isiah Kendall 6'5" | 180 lbs | WR Newport | 2023 State AR has seen his recruiting explode over the past season. With five scholarship offers to his credit, the Newport wide receiver is a matchup nightmare. At 6’5”, he is a difficult wide receiver for opposing defensive backs to contain. Kendall is an impressive big play threat that can take it the distance from anywhere on the field. I look for him to continue to rack up the scholarship offers over the next few months. He is another wide receiver from the state of Arkansas that will play at a high level on Saturdays in the future.
Malachi Henry Malachi Henry 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Van Buren | 2023 State AR -Van Buren-6’1” 175-Pounds
Henry will catch any football thrown in his vicinity. He is another wide receiver that runs extremely smooth routes. The Van Buren Pointers have an explosive offense that is capable of hitting the opposing defense with a big play. Henry has earned two scholarship offers from Yale and Florida Atlantic. He is a wide receiver that can be used to stretch the field and hit the offense over the top. I expect Henry to continue to produce at a high level and earn some more scholarship offers in the process.
Carter McElhany Carter McElhany 5'7" | 155 lbs | WR Greenbrier | 2023 State AR -Greenbrier-5’7” 150-Pounds
One of the most dangerous wide receivers with the ball in his hands is Carter McElhany Carter McElhany 5'7" | 155 lbs | WR Greenbrier | 2023 State AR . The Greenbrier wide receiver has excellent speed. He is impressive creating separation from opposing cornerbacks using his speed. A trait that does not get looked at enough with McElhany is that he will not drop passes. The school that lands him is going to get a wide receiver that can play the slot and get creative with him in the passing game. McElhany is a prospect that has the potential to play on Saturdays and I look forward being able to see him play this fall.
