No. 1: [player_tooltip player_id="87649" first="Dylan" last="Edwards"] – Derby, 5’9”, 165, RB
No surprise as to who the top prospect is in this April update, as [player_tooltip player_id="87649" first="Dylan" last="Edwards"] retains his spot as the No. 1 ranked player in our Class of ’23 rankings. Since the December update, Edwards has been dominating the competition in the 7-on-7 circuit and has continued to rake in the offers. The all-purpose back recently competed at the ESPN Top300 Underclassman Camp, where he posted some impressive numbers. Following his performance at the camp, Edwards has now been named an All-American. It will be interesting to see which program he’ll commit to later this year.
No. 2: [player_tooltip player_id="87642" first="Avery" last="Johnson"] – Maize, 6’3”, 175, QB
Johnson has kept himself busy since taking over the No. 2 spot in the previous update. So far this offseason he’s managed to showcase his athleticism on the hardwood by going viral with a few dunks, and he’s been red-hot at the plate on the diamond. On the football side of things, Johnson continues to draw serious interest from several Power 5 programs, as he’s been viewed as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country. His list of schools has grown more since the December update, with offers coming from Pittsburgh, Washington, Virginia, and Memphis.
No. 3: [player_tooltip player_id="35641" first="John" last="Randle II"] – Wichita Heights, 6’0”, 180, RB
[player_tooltip player_id="35641" first="John" last="Randle II"] checks back in as the 3rd ranked prospect in the class during this April update. The Wichita Heights product continues to climb the national rankings, as some recruiting sites such as 247Sports, view him as a Top 10 running back in this upcoming senior class. Randle II recently took a visit to Austin, TX., where he earned yet another Power 5 offer, as the Texas Longhorns now join the group of schools recruiting the dynamic player. With Randle and a strong senior class leading the way; Wichita Heights should be an exciting team to watch this season.
No. 4: [player_tooltip player_id="35662" first="Wesley" last="Fair"] – Wichita Collegiate, 6’2”, 185, ATH
Fair edges Otting for the No. 4 spot in this update. This move in the rankings comes after Wesley recently announced his commitment. The last time we highlighted the versatile two-way prospect it was mentioned that his recruitment was beginning to warm up. Well, the offers started to roll in since the start of this year, as he’s picked up offers from Colorado State, Harvard, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, and South Dakota. He had a tough decision to make, but after weighing his options; Fair ultimately committed to play safety for the Kansas State Wildcats.
No. 5: [player_tooltip player_id="35665" first="Joe" last="Otting"] – Hayden, 6’4” 270, OL
Otting slides down one spot but is still the top ranked offensive lineman in the class. He’s been on the road often throughout this spring, as he’s visited programs such as Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State. Otting has walked away from each visit with an offer, and also received offers from Baylor and Minnesota earlier this month. He’s arguably the most athletic and versatile offensive lineman in the rankings, and his standout play on the hardwood is just another example of that. Otting not only is an All-Stater on the gridiron, but now on the basketball court as well.
The rest of the Top 10 consists of No. 6: [player_tooltip player_id="229736" first="Andre" last="Davis"] – Blue Valley (WR), No. 7: [player_tooltip player_id="122458" first="Jaden" last="Hamm"] – Emporia, (TE), No. 8: [player_tooltip player_id="87669" first="Will" last="Anciaux"] – Kapaun Mt. Carmel (TE), No. 9: [player_tooltip player_id="127767" first="Wade" last="Spencer"] – St. James Academy (DL), and No. 10: [player_tooltip player_id="87681" first="Camden" last="Beebe"] – Piper (OL)
