Several talented players from North and South Carolina traveled to Cox Mill HS, Concord, NC to participate in the showcase. There were several outstanding individual performances on display throughout the event. The players participated in agility drills, one-on-one drills, and 7on7 competition. The listed players caught my attention while covering the showcase. There is definitely no shortage of talent in the Carolinas.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="327712" first="Caleb" last="Stewart"], DL, 6’0" 265, Cox Mill HS</strong>. He displayed good agility and mobility while participating in the drills during the testing phase of the event. Caleb displayed good footwork and use of hands to control blockers during the one-on-one drills. [player_tooltip player_id="327712" first="Caleb" last="Stewart"] is expected to be one of the leaders on the defensive unit during the upcoming season.
<strong>Christian Jimenez, DL, 6’1" 280, Eastside HS, South Carolina</strong>. He displayed good mobility and agility while participating in the drills during the testing phase of the event. He displayed good footwork and use of hands to control blockers during the one-on-one drills. Christian used his upper body strength to his advantage during the one-on-one drills. The 2023 prospect is expected to be the leader of the defensive line during the upcoming season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="284136" first="Miles" last="Wilson"], DL, 6’1" 270, South Pointe HS, South Carolina</strong>. He is a very talented young defensive lineman who has a lot of potential. He displayed quickness out of his stance and good use of hands during the one-on-one drills to control blockers. Miles displayed agility and mobility as he participated in various drills throughout the event. The 2026 prospect will continue to improve his skillset as he prepares for high school competition in the Fall.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="327706" first="Justin" last="Long"], DL, 6’3" 280, Hickory Ridge HS</strong>. He displayed good mobility and agility for a big defensive lineman. He used his size, good technique and upper body strength to control blockers during the one-on-one drills. Justin displayed good footwork and use of hands to control blockers during the one-on-one drills. Recruiting interest should start to pick up for the 2023 prospect as he participates in Summer Prospect Camps.
<strong>J’Zavien Currance, DB, 6’1" 170, South Pointe HS, South Carolina</strong>. He is a very talented young defensive back who already has the skillset of an experienced high school defensive back. He displayed the quickness and agility to cover receivers during the one-on-one drills. He possesses the skillset to be very effective in man-coverage. The 2026 prospect is expected to make an immediate impact in the defensive secondary as he begins his high school career in the Fall.
