Here what you will find on this short list of five prospects. 1) Length 2) Athleticism 3) Prospects that should be playing on Saturdays when it all said and done with their HS careers. Who are these young men that were on their A-Game at the UNI Dome? Find out when you scroll below!
Owen Brandt | WR/DB | Harrisburg, SD/SD Elite | 2026
If there is one thing I know about scouting WRs from the city of Harrisburg, South Dakota for over two years, it’s they always have significant speed in the slots and long arms and tall WRs on the outside, which fits the description of incoming 9th grader, Owen Brandt. Owen uses that reach of his very efficiently on both sides of the football, whether it was reaching for a high-traffic catch this weekend or extending his wingspan to make a tackle (touch in 7v7 terms) jumping into the first level of the field. This kid’s wide catch radius is going to shock a few people in 11AAA over the coming years, just wait and see!
Austin Scheuler | QB | Yutan, NE/Nebraska Red Wolves | 2026
I was a big fan of Austin’s arm strength he showed off for his age coming out of the tiny town of Yutan, Nebraska (pop. 1310). Austin was able to be successful fitting the ball into some quite tight windows, which showed off a lot solid touch throughout the reps I caught from him on Sunday. I believe the biggest development for Austin is his awareness with his throws being made, and adjusting his throw power to cater to his wide receivers even better depending on their route. Once Austin develops that skillset, I got a great feeling about this young man’s game at the high school level.
Tayvin Laddusaw | WR | Brandon, SD/SD Elite | 2026
I enjoyed watching Tayvin most as a very active route-runner that took some lengthy strides on his routes. His ability to use that length to get separation is what flipped a switch when needed to turn it on around the sidelines on Saturday when I watched him in person. Growing more speed off his route, will only make this young man even stronger once he enters that Brandon Valley Lynx weight room this Fall.
Lamarious Clark | WR/DB | Cedar Rapids, IA/Fire Dragons | 2026
When I got the chance to watch Lamarious, I had to check and make sure I was still watching the 7/8th grade division, because this young man has such a terrific frame for his age that equates well to both sides of the ball. This kid certainly at one of the longest strides I watched amongst wide receivers probably all weekend long in the 7th/8th grade group. I loved watching Lamarious compete around the sidelines, as he showed polished balance with his footwork. Lamarious would also get my MVP for physicality for Saturday night’s edition at #Back2Ballin at the UNI Dome. I have a gut feeling this is going to be a kid that will be playing on Saturdays in several years. Lamarious will go to Cedar Rapids Prairie next year.
Brayton Alford | WR | Carroll, IA/Carroll Chargers | 2026
I got to see first hand what this Carroll Charger was all about on Sunday, and I came away very impressed. Brayton showed off some clutch hands that made him look like a natural instinctive wide receiver position at his age. Brayton also can work in high demand even in limited space from the secondary. He shows off a even quicker trigger on tape than my eyes saw on Sunday as far as his burst goes off the snap with his finishing speed staying consistent throughout the duration of his route. Brayton is All United States selection, which means those nationwide are already taking notice of this young man as just an incoming 9th grader. Brayton is one I hope to see at our Prep Redzone NEXT showcase in Chicago. Another MS prospect I could see playing on Saturdays.
