Bryce Underwood Bryce Underwood 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Belleville | 2025 State MI – Belleville
A MaxPreps All-American as a freshman, Bryce Underwood Bryce Underwood 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Belleville | 2025 State MI is one of the premier quarterbacks in the state and the entire country. As an 8th grader, he received offers from Michigan State, Kentucky, and Marshall, and during his freshman season at Belleville, he and his team won the D1 State Championship. With the talent around Underwood and the mentors he has for coaches, I am confident Underwood will go very far in life and football. Although listed at 6’1 – 6’2, he looked taller when I met him during the State Championship (I’m 6’0″). Underwood is undoubtedly the #1 player in the class of 2025 as of right now, and I can’t see anyone taking that spot even after this coming season.
Aspen Keyes Aspen Keyes 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Grand Ledge | 2025 MI – DeWitt
Highly touted in part by his offseason performance and part because of the DeWitt name, Aspen Keyes Aspen Keyes 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Grand Ledge | 2025 MI is set to take over an elite program that made it to the state championship this past season. In a December interview with The D Zone, Keyes stated that he’s working on getting better every day and that Ty Holtz Ty Holtz 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB DeWitt | 2022 MI has been a great leader to him and has taught him a lot, such as footwork and getting the ball out quickly. In all honesty, I don’t expect Keyes to come out and light it up immediately, but I do expect him to develop into an incredible High School QB.
McKale McDowell McKale McDowell 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB River Rouge | 2025 State MI – River Rouge
With a fantastic freshman season under his belt, McDowell seems like the obvious successor to Christian Johnson Christian Johnson 6'0" | 210 lbs | QB River Rouge | 2023 State MI after he graduates in 2023. I see a lot of parallels between McDowell and Johnson, as they both like to roll out, throw on the run, and generally use their feet more than most QBs. McDowell will have a great team around him once it’s his time to take over, and I hope that he works relentlessly on his craft, so when it is his time, he’ll have offers swarming in.
