Cash Buettenback Cash Buettenback 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE | Lincoln Southeast | 5’11″ 170 lbs
Cash is a very promising-looking running back with a similar frame and playing style as his older brother RB/LB Max. Cash is a downhill runner that hits his hole hard with a great burst to break away from the defense. He is a bruising back that thrives off contact and can make defenders bounce off of him. Cash has good balance and does a great job keeping his legs pumping. He always falls forward and will scrap to pick up extra yardage after contact. Buettenback is also an underrated pass-catching back; if you can get him the ball with open space, he has the athleticism to scramble for a nice gain. He has all the tools to be one of the top backs in the state.
Gavin Shanahan Gavin Shanahan 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE | Elkhorn South | 5’9″ 170 lbs
Gavin is a very twitchy running back with insane cutting ability. Shanahan’s footwork is incredibly impressive, especially for someone that is only a freshman. Two of my favorite plays on his tape are, one that starts at 1:13 in the clip below and the one right after that. In the first one, he uses his speed to outrace everyone to the edge and shoots out the gate once he hits the corner and takes the ball all the way to the house. The second one is an inside handoff that he drives through the hole, but uses his vision and cutback ability to bounce to the outside. He then turns on the jets and beats everyone to the endzone. Shanahan is also dangerous as a returner. Gavin is a great overall athlete with a good set of skills and a very high ceiling.
Mason Gunn Mason Gunn 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB Gretna East | 2025 State NE | Gretna | 5’7″ 170 lbs
Gretna’s 2025 class is looking like a pretty solid group already. One of the most exciting players in that class is running back Mason Gunn Mason Gunn 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB Gretna East | 2025 State NE . Mason is a very smooth runner that sort of seems to glide through the field when the ball is in his hands. He has great straight-line speed and can make guys miss with his cutback ability. Gunn’s balance is also very impressive as he can shake off tackles and can stay upright even through contact. Mason is a gritty player that should continue to develop nicely.
Desmond Dhaenens Desmond Dhaenens 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Millard North | 2025 State NE | Millard North
Desmond is a fun player to watch on film. He plays a very interesting role in the Millard North offense where he is used as a runner, a receiver, and does his fair share of blocking. He has good field vision and has the cutback ability to make shake-off defenders in space. Dhaenans shoots through his hole like a bullet and has great acceleration speed once he hits the open field. He is a threat to hit a home run any time he touches the ball. Desmond’s playmaking ability has also translated over to defense and special teams. Keep an eye out for this guy!
Jeremiah Druckenmiller Jeremiah Druckenmiller 5'7" | 135 lbs | WR Oakland-Craig | 2025 State NE | Oakland-Craig | 5’7″ 135 lbs
Jeremiah is a very interesting prospect from C-2, Oakland-Craig. He is a bit undersized still but he makes up for it with his athleticism and nose for the big play. He is a very twitchy player with good balance and shifty feet that can make players miss in space. Jeremiah does a great job hitting his hole hard and using the burners to outrace everyone to the endzone. Jeremiah’s vision and ability to change direction on a dime are going to make him a very tough player to prepare for. He is going to be a player that you find different ways to feed him the ball because he has that level of twitchiness and speed.
