Continue ReadingNebraska is a huge state and we focus on Omaha and Lincoln a lot. The players from Western Nebraska are just as good even though they don’t compete in the big cities. Talent can come from anywhere and I know Nebraska has some hidden gems. It may be early but Next season is going to be crazy.
QB Abram Scholting Abram Scholting 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Pierce | 2023 State NE , Pierce Class of 2023
For our Western QB well start with Abram Scholting Abram Scholting 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Pierce | 2023 State NE who had a total with 2,265 yards this last season. He had this much on only 117 completions and averaged 19.4 yards a throw. He threw 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions which shows his accuracy and skill. He had 96 carries for 500 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. In his total career he had 4,089 yards and 61 total touchdowns. His stats show that he is capable of taking apart any secondary in the state.
RB Sebastien Boyle Sebastien Boyle 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Scottsbluff | 2024 State NE , Scottsbluff Class of 2024
This year was Sebastien’s first year on varsity and he showed out with 210 carries for 1774 yards averaging with 177 yards a game and a total of 25 touchdowns. He is young and he has just barely started. He is really fast and has a 2nd gear. When Boyle hits the second level he launches like a rocket and is hard to stop.
WR Benjamin Brahmer Benjamin Brahmer 6'6" | 210 lbs | TE Pierce | 2023 State NE , Pierce Class of 2023
Pierce had a lot of top games last season and I watched so much film of Brahmer and he is one of the best Tight Ends in the state of Nebraska. Last season he had caught for 1,119 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. In his whole career he had accumulated 1,986 yards on 116 catches for 24 touchdowns. I am excited to see what next year brings him.
TE Trent Barry, Bishop Neumann Class of 2023
Just watching Trent’s Hudl highlights can show how versatile he is as a receiver he reaches high and easily catches the ball. he has some insane catches and he’s a tough one to take down. Last season he had 544 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns. Now that isn’t much however I think he’s going to get the ball more on offense in 2023. He is one of those players who plays both sides of the ball and excels at both.
WR James Olds, Fairbury Class of 2023
Last season James went off with a astonishing 731 yards on only 33 catches and 10 touchdowns. He averages 20.1yards a catch. Just like other small towns James plays both offense and Defense so its even crazier that he does as well as he does. Olds has had some magnificent catches and looks like he was made for playing receiver.
WR Ashton Gragg Ashton Gragg 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Central City | 2023 State NE , Central City Class of 2023
Ashton is another sleeper that might have gone under the radar. Last season he had 729 yards on 55 receptions averaging 91 yards a game and 13.3 a catch. his total career yards is 1,127 from the last two seasons and his contribution of 12 total touchdowns 8 of which are from last year. Just like the others on this list you can see progress as time goes on which can make Ashton the main receiver for Central City.
