I took to Twitter to find some game films to review and break them down. Here are five players from the 2023 & 2024 classes that responded to my tweet and shared their game tapes.

<em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="301558" first="Isaiah" last="Zelasney"] (2023 - QB/ATH) | Osceola | 6’0" 185 lbs</strong></em>
<em><strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13253461/Isaiah-Zelasney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hudl</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/ZelasneyIsaiah" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a></strong></em>
Coming in from 8-man football, Isaiah is a very elusive and electrifying athlete. Zelasney was not asked to throw the ball very much, with only 40 attempts, 284 passing yards, and 4 passing touchdowns on the year. However, he did light up opposing defenses on the ground with 1,817 rushing yards and 37 rushing touchdowns. Isaiah is a talented runner with tremendous field vision and a remarkable ability to stay on his feet after contact. Isaiah is speedy and has several moves in his arsenal to shake off defenders. In his game film, you can see his juking, cutting, spinning, and stiff arms, making him a tough player to tackle. Isaiah’s balance and patience when running downhill are incredible to watch as he seems to play at a different speed than everyone else on the field. Once Isaiah hits the hole, he has top-tier acceleration and can outrun the entire defense. Keep an eye out for this 8-man football phenom!

<em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="227036" first="Jaylen" last="Lloyd"] (2023 - WR) | Omaha Central | 5’10" 160 lbs</strong></em>
<em><strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12782758/Jaylen-Lloyd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hudl</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/LloydJaylen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a></strong></em>
They say speed kills; if that’s so, [player_tooltip player_id="227036" first="Jaylen" last="Lloyd"] is a stone-cold killer on the field. Lloyd has used his blazing track speed to develop into one of the best deep-threat targets in the 2023 class. I personally witnessed this in week one against Columbus when Jaylen kicked off his season by catching a 50-yard bomb. He would continue his deep-threat pace throughout the season, finishing with 20 receptions for 441 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns, averaging 22 yards a catch. Jaylen is the type of player you wish you could give the ball to on every play because of his speed and ability to make huge plays. He ran a few sweep plays and bubble screens to create separation and get him the ball in the open field, which seemed to work fine, and I think we will see more of this in 2022. Lloyd works hard at his craft, and you can see that it is paying off for Jaylen in his routes, footwork, catching, and separation at the line of scrimmage. TONS of upside here with this speedster!

<em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="227559" first="Sam" last="Cappos"] (2023 - DL) | Lincoln East | 6’1" 240 lbs</strong></em>
<em><strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13101812/Sam-Cappos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hudl</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/samcappos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a></strong></em>
Sam is one of the most intriguing 2023 prospects because of his athleticism, not just in football but also as one of the country’s top track and field athletes. On the gridiron, Sam is a very dominant defensive tackle that uses his strength and powerful hands to swat offensive linemen away. Cappos has a quick get-off at the snap and packs a lot of explosiveness in his first step to help him drive defenders back and meet the ball-carrier in the backfield. Sam ranked second among all defensive tackles with 68 tackles, and he also added 1.5 sacks and forced fumble/recovery. Cappos maintains a low center of gravity and can usually win the leverage battle over his opponent. Cappos is getting serious looks from several schools for both football and track and field. Duke has already extended an offer for Sam to do both, and I wouldn’t be surprised if more schools started following suit.

<em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="245537" first="Barrett" last="Walker"] (2023 - OL) | Pius X | 6’4" 275 lbs</strong></em>
<em><strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/14149400/Barrett-Walker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hudl</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/barrettwalker68" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a></strong></em>
Talk about a mean streak; Barrett is a mauler on Pius’s offensive and defensive lines. Walker is a tall, sturdy, and powerful OL prospect that can play either left or right tackle. He is vicious with his blocks and loves to drive defenders into the dirt. Since his sophomore year, Barrett has been a stalwart in the Thunderbolt’s starting offensive line and continues to make strides in his development. He is impossible to escape from when he gets his big mitts on you, and he is constantly driving his feet and looking to finish the play. Walker also looks like he could play the DT position at the next level. He is a big body that can clog up run lanes and eat up blockers, with the hustle and motor to continue fighting through the play. Barrett finished the year with 20 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and a sack and could see an increase in his numbers with the departure of some seniors.

<em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="227018" first="George" last="Egan"] (2023 - RB/LB) | Creighton Prep | 6’1" 200 lbs
</strong></em>
<em><strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13205263/George-Egan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hudl</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/george_egan25" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a></strong></em>
I’ve always said that the middle linebacker/fullback two-way players are some of the biggest menaces on the field, and Creighton Prep’s [player_tooltip player_id="227018" first="George" last="Egan"] further proves my point. Egan was part of the vaunted Jr. Jays backfield featuring [player_tooltip player_id="227009" first="CharMar" last="Brown"] and [player_tooltip player_id="193783" first="Jack" last="Stessman"], where he was primarily a blocker but still ripped off some powerful runs. Egan rushed for 182 yards on 28 carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground. He is a bone-shattering blocker that builds up a lot of momentum and delivers stiff, clean blocks on defenders. He is an excellent complement to both the ball-carrier and the offensive line, working like a road-roller and flattening anyone in the rushing lanes. Defensively, he brings the same intensity and is a thumper in the middle of a stingy Jay’s defense. George reacts sharply and moves in on his target quickly and with conviction. He used his built 200-pound frame to make some hard-hitting tackles. I anticipate George’s role to increase in 2022, and his offers list should also.
