It’s full of top programs and it’s an area that pumps out D1 talent in every position year after year. Cobb County is home to some top-notch wideouts, and there are many in the 2023 class who could be towards the top of the state receiving list next fall.
Here are some of leading receivers in Cobb County for 2022…
Cayden Lee – Kennesaw Mountain
A longtime productive receiver entering his final season this fall, it’s easy to see the overall talent, dedication, and effort that Cayden Lee Cayden Lee 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Hillgrove | 2023 State GA brings to game. A silky-smooth route runner at 6-foot-0 180-pounds, Lee is an incredibly twitchy receiver with great feet and the ability to create separation. He works hard on his craft, he’s dedicated to perfecting the details of his game, and he’s only getting better. The former Westlake star has reliable hands and has the ability to get by defenders with ease. As a junior last fall, Lee caught 54 passes for over 1,000 yards and 11 TDs. Lee already holds offers from Georgia, Auburn, FSU, and Kentucky, with more likely coming his way.

Craig Adams, jr. – Pebblebrook
A big-bodied, physical receiver at 6-foot-3 210-pounds, the Mableton native is tough and knows how to break tackles after the catch. He’s an excellent blocker on the outside, but his ability to catch the football and make plays in the passing game is what makes him one of the best in Cobb County. He’s great in the screen game, and once he gets some space, he shows good burst and can get upfield in a hurry. He runs hard behind his pads and is tough to bring down by just one defender. He can break tackles with his physicality, but he has some finesse to his game as well. He also shows good ball skills and can bring down the ball in traffic. As a junior last fall, Adams Jr caught 54 passes for 936 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in 11 games.

Christian Mathis – Marietta
One of the more explosive returning receivers in the county, Mathis was a speedy deep-threat all season for the Blue Devils and knows how to stretch the field. His overall speed and burst allow him to get behind the secondary, and when the ball is in the air, there’s a great chance he’s coming down with it. The air-raid Blue Devil offense needs playmaking receivers, and that’s what Mathis brought to the offense last season. He’s a good route runner, changes directions well, and knows how to get open on his own. He’s a go-to weapon on 3rd down who can create separation on key passing downs. He made play after play last fall, catching 54 passes for 911 yards and 11 touchdowns in 10 games.

Jailen Taylor – Wide Receiver
One of the breakout stars in the region last fall, Taylor is an explosive playmaker who knows how to run away from defenders. He didn’t catch a ton of passes, but when he did, he made it count for big yards. A speedy wideout, Taylor shows game-changing speed and can score on any particular play. He caught 22 passes last fall for 710 yards (32.3 yards per reception) and 10 touchdowns. The Mustangs have plenty of weapons on offense, but Taylor was one of the more dynamic and explosive receivers on the roster. The Cobb County standout is starting to see his recruitment take off, and he’s expected to have a giant senior season in 2022.
