All around the College and NFL level, dual-threat quarterbacks have been an extremely sought-after luxury. Look no further than this year’s draft, where Liberty QB Malik Willis has soured up the rankings as a high-ceiling dual-threat prospect. In Michigan’s 2023 High School class, there are three Quarterbacks who I’d like to highlight for their dual-threat ability. Here I’ll be focusing primarily on the rushing ability of these QBs since they are all similarly great at throwing the football.

Rolling out of the pocket quite a bit, [player_tooltip player_id="30338" first="Christian" last="Johnson"] is the Russell Wilson type dual-threat QB that’s most common in the NFL/College. Johnson is always a threat to throw on the run or sprint his way to a 1st down. Once he takes off, his athleticism and speed are more than enough to blow by most defenders. Overall, Johnson’s dual-threat game will translate very well to the college level.

A name everyone should know by now, [player_tooltip player_id="241265" first="Parker" last="Picot"] is the best Veer QB coming out of Michigan in a long time. He runs the Rochester Adams offense to perfection, making great reads and being a bulldozer of a runner when he has to. When Picot runs, which is very often, he does it with toughness and ferocity rarely seen in Quarterbacks. Very few athletes, let alone QBs, can carry Picot’s physical and mental workload into every game. Indeed an exceptional talent, he’ll look to lead Adams to another Ford Field appearance.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="216997" first="Alex" last="Bueno"] <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12725687/Alex-Bueno">HUDL</a></strong>
An underrated prospect poised for a great season, [player_tooltip player_id="216997" first="Alex" last="Bueno"] is a dynamic dual-threat QB who can make a ton happen with his feet. In fact, Bueno has a 4.5-minute video that solely showcases his rushing highlights. He’s impressive off the option, and once he’s off, he runs like a running back. Bueno has a nice juke and a unique hesitation that stops opposing defenders like a deer in headlights. Very smart, slippery, and quick with the ball, Bueno is about to cause havoc in the OAA White.
