Continue ReadingAs we inch closer and closer to spring ball, we continue to see some top running backs in the state reel in new offers. The state of Georgia produces high-caliber D1 backs each year, and the 2023 class is no different. Here are some rising senior running backs who earned new offers this past week…
Jamarion Wilcox – South Paulding
It took a little time, but the South Paulding back, coming off an excellent junior season, is starting to see some major D1 offers come his way. Wilcox was excellent all last season and has proved time and time again that he can play at the highest collegiate level. The 5-foot-10 195-pounder has a very physical running style with good vision and the ability to make people miss. He runs hard, breaks tackles in the lower body, and can be tough to bring down by just one defender. He carried the offense at times during the season and ended the year with 202 carries for 1,534 yards and 23 touchdowns. He made it know he’s one of the state’s best and should see his stock continue to rise this spring. He’s had a great month of March on the recruiting trail, adding offers from Mississippi State and Colorado.

Benjamin Hall – North Cobb
One of the hottest running backs across the state right now, Hall is coming off an impressive season for the North Cobb Warriors where he shared the load on the ground with four-star QB Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA . On just 95 carries, Hall has rushed for 543 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s built well at 6-foot-0 220-pounds, but he’s also a smooth runner for a bigger back. He’s also caught 12 passes for 10 yards and two more touchdowns. He earned a major offer this week from Minnesota and it likely won’t be his last. He’s shifty, runs with balance, and has some power to his game as well. He also showed reliable hands out of the backfield in last weekend’s Atlanta Under Armour Camp where he left with “Co-MVP” honors at running back. Look for Hall to take on a bigger role as a senior this fall, helping lead a fantastic rushing attack for the Warriors in 2023.

Keyjuan Brown Keyjuan Brown 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB South Atlanta | 2023 State GA – RB – South Atlanta
One of the state’s leading rushers last season, The Atlanta native has proved he can play at the D1 level, and college coaches are starting to take notice. Every time Brown had the ball in his hands last fall, something good happened. The tackle-breaking 5-foot-10 200-pounder has no problem bowling through would-be tackles and proved he also has enough speed to break off a long run on any particular play. He was outstanding in just about every game, rushing for 2,757 yards on the season and 38 touchdowns. He couldn’t be stopped, showing speed, agility, and big-play ability every game. Brown rushed for over 100 yards in every game and rushed for over 200 yards in eight games. He’s quickly become one of the top 2023 backs in the state after a dominant junior year, and he recently earned offers from Rutgers and Buffalo.

Dontavious Braswell – Washington County
Another fast-rising back in the peach state, Braswell is a do-it-all back with dynamic playmaking ability. He’s incredibly quick and shifty at 5-foot-11 190-pounds and can break tackles with ease. He’s consistently one of the best athletes on the field at all times and makes it look easy in his region. If defenders don’t wrap up properly, they have no shot in bringing down Braswell. He changes directions with ease and can take off when he gets in the open field. He’s one of the fastest backs across Georgia in the 2023 class and claims a 10.7 in the 100M Dash. Due to his speed, elusiveness, and ability to break tackles, Braswell has seen recent offers from his way from Florida Atlantic and Liberty.
