#60 [player_tooltip player_id="253242" first="Lucas" last="Bassham"] | DL | 2024 | Hudl Bassham plays with outstanding effort. There are plays that you will see Bassham downfield tracking down quarterbacks. He is always looking to hit someone. Bassham has a play on his highlight this past season where he got down the field and knocked down a defensive back. [player_tooltip player_id="253242" first="Lucas" last="Bassham"]’s motor should continue to earn him playing time and likely a starting role as a junior. #13 [player_tooltip player_id="241258" first="Austin" last="Harvey"] | DB | 2023 | Hudl Harvey has outstanding range at the cornerback position. Receivers really need to think twice before going over the middle against Harvey as he shows the ability to deliver big hits. Harvey does a good job of putting his foot in the ground and working back to the football. He has a fluid back pedal and does not have to exert a ton of energy to move quickly. In run support, Harvey does not hesitate to fly up and make tackles. He does a great job of working through traffic and taking proper angles at ball carriers. Rockford will play press-man to man coverage, which shows that the caoching staff trusts Harvey to cover receivers one on one. Having a shutdown corner is critical for a defense. It allows defensive coordinators to try different schemes when you know one guy is shutting down a side of the field. #5 [player_tooltip player_id="253241" first="Cayden" last="McLain"] | WR | 2024 | Hudl Rockford likes to use Mclain in the slot to get him involved on end arounds. He has good speed to effortlessly get around the edge and pickup positive yardage. He does a great job of breaking down and cutting to the outside on out-breaking routes. He has good stop-start ability and uses it effectively to pull away from defenders. #3 [player_tooltip player_id="232200" first="Mac" last="VandenHout"] | QB/WR | 2023 | Hudl Vandehout does a great job of finding openings in zone coverage. He is an outstanding athlete who also returns kicks and punts. They also will use him as a wildcat quarterback. Vandenhout has legit stragiht line speed and can burn corners on deep routes. He does a great job of working back to the football. This is great to see, since many young receivers do not do this. Vandenhout is very elusive and easily slips through arm tackles. Like Mclain, they liked to run end-arounds to Vandenhout as well. Vandenhout will be a key playmaker in 2022 once again for the Rams. #1 [player_tooltip player_id="232201" first="Alex" last="McLean"] | WR | 2023 | Hudl Mclean runs routes with precision. His timing with his quarterback is fantasic. You can tell he has put in a lot of work into perfecting his game. Mclean is always running routes with urgency, flying up feild with the football in his hands. Mclean shows great awarenss to know where is on the field, never running routes too deep and ending up out of bounce. Mclean has a strong mucular build that he allow him to keep good balance and always stay on his feet. The Rockford coaching staff should be excited about the talent they have returning at receiver. This is a very competitve program that always has good offensive production. That will be no different in 2022 with Mclain, Vandenhout and Mclean all coming back.
