PRZ Next Southeast Camp: 2026 Defensive Back Preview
In this article:
Prep Redzone Next is holding the first of three, one-day showcases this upcoming Sunday, April 2nd, at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, Ga. The camp is designed for middle school athletes to compete in combine testing, individual position work and competitive one on work. The camp sold out in just 12 days, and athletes from 11 different states are slated to come out and compete at the event.
Here’s a preview of the class of 2026 athletes who are registered to play Defensive Back.
The home state of Georgia will be well-represented at the event led by one of the best middle school athletes in the nation in Brian Hicks Brian Hicks 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Lilburn | 2026 GA . Hick is an extraordinary athlete at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds that covers a ton of space. He has P5 size right now as an eighth grader and his ability nearly matches that. While more of a safety, I still expect him to blanket receivers and make it a long day for those guys.
Jalen Williams Jalen Williams 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Kell | 2026 State GA out of Eddie White Middle School is another Peach State defensive back that should lock it down at the camp. He’s more of your traditional corner, but can shut down his side of the field with ease in most situations. He and Hicks are teammates on one of the top 7v7 programs in the country, Hustle Inc.
Future Buford Wolf Rahsaan Isaac Rahsaan Isaac 5'10" | 150 lbs | DB Buford | 2026 GA Jr. is a a perfect blend of the above mentioned Hicks and Williams. He’s increasingly more physical and has nice size at 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds. However, he also plays the position with finesse and knows does a lot of the little things right in the secondary.
Chase Clements of Weaver Middle School and Keiron Brown of Carver Road Middle School are two of the lesser-known 2026 prospects out of Georgia that are registered. Both look to be your classic corners and both will have ample reps and opportunity to show they can play among the top in the class.
Sticking with pairs, there are two very promising young men making the trip from east from Alabama. Shone Tapscott Shone Tapscott 5'7" | 150 lbs | ATH West Morgan | 2026 State AL is an intriguing prospect that I suspect will surprise some people. The Decatur Heritage Christian Academy prospect can play a lot of positions on the field (running back, receiver, linebacker, defensive back) and has very good ball skills. It will be fun to see him compete against some of the elite wide outs coming.
The other 2026 Alabama prospect coming out is Kobe Boleware. Boleware currently attends Bumpus Middle School, which is one of the feeder programs for 13-time state champion, Hoover Buccaneers. On the middle school level Alabama athletes are a little underserved with media attention when compared to other states, but Boleware is one I guarantee people will be talking about after camp.
The final 2026 defensive back prospect that will be in attendance calls South Carolina home. Somad Eaddy aka Mr. Seatbelt will be there trying to keep receivers in check at all times. He’s a long, lean corner who plays 7v7 for the SC Outlaws. He’s listed at 5-foot-8, but he’s one of those long-limbed athletes who appears (and plays) much bigger.
