As our next rankings update continues to develop, we are doing a deep dive into players who send in their tape to us as well as finding guys on our own or through coaches. Bailey has a high football IQ and can quickly diagnose plays as they are beginning to happen. Always in the right spot in coverage to jump a route or pick off the opposing quarterback. Brings the juice on special teams, forcing turnovers and creating big hits in the open field. Great form tackler who is not afraid of coming down into the box for run support. Takes great angles in pursuit of the ball carrier. All around talented football player who should draw some attention this spring. Excited to watch him play this fall and see how much further he can take his game. [player_tooltip player_id="223762" first="DeJarious" last="Segrest"] | 2024 LB | Copiah Academy Stocky inside backer at 6’0" 205. Traditional MIKE style backer who creates havoc against the run and when on a blitz on passing downs. Little to no hesitation when reading his keys and triggering on the ball. Smart football player who always finds himself in the right spot to make a play. Does a great job at getting off of blocks when offensive linemen engage with him. Tough, hard nosed player who loves contact and dealing big blows to the ball carrier. Good sideline to sideline speed that allows him to chase players down in pursuit. Great inside linebacker prospect who looks to be set to have a big time junior campaign. [player_tooltip player_id="292731" first="Des" last="Witherspoon"] | 2024 TE | McComb Long and athletic tight end prospect at 6’3" 190. Basketball background is evident in the way that he moves on the field. Lined up all over the field in the slot and outside at the X receiver position. Tenacious blocker who wants to dominate whoever is across the line from him. Naturally strong with heavy hands; will not be surprised when he fills out with added strength after this offseason. Smooth hands as a receiver and shows the ability to find holes in the defense. Should take over the starting tight end role after the departure of senior stud TE/DE [player_tooltip player_id="104366" first="Jameer" last="Lewis"]. Intriguing player to keep track of this spring and summer. [player_tooltip player_id="294539" first="Grey" last="Hale"] | 2023 QB | Newton County Junior quarterback who had a good season last year, throwing for 2126 yards and 18 touchdowns. 66% completion percentage on the year as well. Smooth footwork in the pocket with a quick release to top things off. Powerful arm that generates a lot of natural zip on the football on both intermediate and deep passes. Great accuracy at all levels of the field and capable of making almost any throw asked. Throws with anticipation and processes the field well. Athletic and fast quarterback who can create on his own when the pocket breaks down, or be a threat in the quarterback run game. Led Newton County to a playoff appearance against 4A state champion Columbia. Very talented quarterback who will rise in our next rankings update. [player_tooltip player_id="281786" first="Hayden" last="Dozier"] | 2023 OL | Amory Athletic two way player on the offensive and defensive line. Stands at 6’3" 270 and moves great for his size. Quick feet that do not drag when he is engaged with a defender. Plays with good pad level and refuses to let anybody get under him. Naturally strong upper body that he uses to crush defenders. Plays the game with a chip on his shoulder and finishes blocks through the whistle. Does a great job blocking up front in both gap and zone schemes. Strong first punch as a pass protector and does not give the opposing defensive lineman a free release to the quarterback. Love this guy’s tape from last season and most certainly has college prospect upside. [player_tooltip player_id="287553" first="Micah" last="Stallworth"] | 2024 ATH | Jackson Prep Quick twitched natural athlete who spent most his time at cornerback last season. Also played some defensive end at times during the season late in games. Good long speed and shows the ability to change direction well. Played well in zone coverage and had great knowledge of route concepts and what was coming his way. Efficient tackler in the open field and did a good job at getting off of blocks from opposing wide outs. Added value on special teams. Consistently hustled down the field to create a big play and stop the returner from taking one to the house. Good player with high potential to develop well over the next two seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="293192" first="Omar" last="Scott"] | 2024 RB | Winston Academy Massive young back at 6’2" 190. Hard runner with great vision. Quickly hits the hole and follows his blocks well. Fast and explosive in the open field - can change into a homerun gear and outrun the entire defense to the end zone. Changes direction exceptionally well for his size in space and can make defenders miss. Balances well through contact and can shed any arm tackle attempt that comes his way. Runs routes well out of the backfield and can high point the football. Extremely talented player who will be a major riser in our next rankings update. Expect him to start drawing some college attention soon. [player_tooltip player_id="285090" first="Beau" last="Davis"] | 2024 OL | Warren Central Big bodied young kid at 6’2" 280 who looks to have made some tremendous strides in the weight room this offseason. Davis played some in the rotation last year on the Warren Central offensive line and will look to make a charge for the starting center job this season. Very flexible lower body and quicker footwork even with his added size. The rising junior has crisp snaps that come off with high velocity, making him an asset for special teams units as well. Intriguing player to keep an eye on this spring and throughout summer. &nbsp;
