For people that think football slows down during the offseason, this week will go a long way to proving them wrong. It was spring break in the state of Arkansas, however, from a recruiting perspective it was another busy week for several prospects in the state. We are going to look at a few of the prospects that were preparing for competitions as well as earning some scholarship offers.
[player_tooltip player_id="221709" first="Isaiah" last="Arrington"]-Wide Receiver-Greenwood-2025
The Greenwood wide receiver is a player to keep an eye on as the season approaches. At the Impact All American camp on Friday he posted a 4.33-forty time. He has continued to improve and is becoming a wide receiver that can play the slot or outside receiver positions. I have had the good fortune to be able to watch Arrington for several months now and his improvement is clear. Arrington has a busy offseason on his radar, and he will continue to hit several camps and prospect days as the offseason continues.
[player_tooltip player_id="264654" first="Jaymion" last="Hardin"]-Defensive Back-Little Rock Central-2024
Hardin is a defensive back that does not have any trouble of sticking with opposing wide receivers. He is a defensive back that is always around the football. Hardin will either bat the ball away or pick off the pass and take it the other direction. The Little Rock Central defensive back had the opportunity to pay a visit to SMU on Friday night. Hardin will be taking part in the Dallas Pylon 7-on-7 camp over the weekend.
[player_tooltip player_id="201147" first="Anton" last="Pierce"]-Athlete-Little Rock Mills-2023
The whole offseason has been a busy one for [player_tooltip player_id="201147" first="Anton" last="Pierce"]. Pierce will be competing in the extremely competitive Dallas Pylon 7-on-7 tournament over the weekend. However, Pierce picked up a scholarship offer from the Army Black Knights on Friday. The young man has been playing at a high level over the past year and he is taking his game to the next level. Look for a strong tournament from the Arkansas Elite 100 and from Pierce as well this weekend.
[player_tooltip player_id="238790" first="Kelon" last="Barnett"]-Running Back-North Little Rock-2023
[player_tooltip player_id="238790" first="Kelon" last="Barnett"] has put in the work this offseason. Barnett has been preparing all week for the Rivals Camp on Saturday. The preparation paid off for him. The bruising running back ran 4.94-forty on Saturday. Barnett is a running back that I expect to have a strong 2022 football season. The North Little Rock team is a talented one and I would expect Barnett to see plenty of carries this coming season.
[player_tooltip player_id="259657" first="Jadyn" last="Johnson"]-Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2025
The Van Buren wide receiver is honing his craft at the Impact All American camp in Northwest Arkansas. Johnson has caught the ball well and his routes have been smooth over the past few weeks. I expect a strong performance over the weekend from the Van Buren wide receiver. He is a prospect to watch out for during the course of the season. Van Buren is a team that likes to throw the football and Johnson should see plenty passes thrown his way this season.
Continue to check back here for more news over the camps this weekend in Dallas and in Arkansas! Plenty of news going on and this is a fun time of year to catch some talented recruits.
